Transcribe Vimeo Livestream archives a full event day, as text.
A live event archived on Vimeo transcribes from its Vimeo link pasted here, or from the downloaded file, and a 6-hour event day comes back in about 12 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and that day's 360 minutes fit in the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Archive to transcript
An event archive is the record of a whole day on stage, and it should be readable.
Link first, download if needed
Once the live event is saved as a video in your Vimeo account, copy that video's link and paste it in the box; we fetch it from Vimeo, so nothing passes through your computer. Older archives from the Livestream service may sit elsewhere; in that case download the file and upload it.
Private events
A video locked behind privacy settings may not open from a link. Loosen the setting while the transcript runs, or download the archive as the owner and send the file through upload page, which takes up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The box on this page itself handles files up to 500 MB.
A three-day conference
Three 6-hour days add up to 1,080 minutes, which sits in the $12 pack of 2,000. A season of twelve such days is 4,320 minutes and calls for the $24 pack of 5,000. A single day alone stays inside the $6 pack.
What organisers use it for
Chapters mark where each session begins, so attendees can jump to a talk. The brief gives a summary for the follow-up mail, speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and VTT captions the archived video for viewers who watch it later. Sponsors who ask what was said about them can get the quote with its timestamp, and the DOCX export becomes the base for a written report of the day.
Event archives elsewhere
After the event, six hours of talks sit in a library and wait.

FAQ
Vimeo Livestream archives, the common questions.
How long does a 6-hour event take?
About 12 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. On /proof/long-files a 9.31-hour recording finished in 1,033 seconds.
Do I need to download the archive?
Not when it is a Vimeo video we can open: paste the link. Download it only if privacy settings block the link, or if the archive sits outside Vimeo. A link also saves time, because a multi-gigabyte event file never has to travel down to your computer and back up again.
What does a whole conference cost?
A first visit gets 20 minutes free, with a longer event previewed after that. Three 6-hour days are 1,080 minutes, on the $12 pack of 2,000. Credits never expire, so leftover minutes carry to next year's event.
Is there a limit on length or size?
One recording can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, an uploaded file can be up to 2 GB. A marathon day past 10 hours goes in as two recordings.
The event had talks in two languages. Does that work?
Each recording is detected on its main language among 99. If one block of the day is in another language, splitting that block into its own file gives the cleanest result.
Is there a Vimeo integration, and is the recording kept private?
There is no integration; WhipScribe uses the link or the file. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training, and you can delete the transcript.
