Transcribe long Wistia videos webinars, courses and product tours.
A long Wistia video, such as a recorded webinar or a training module, is transcribed from the MP4 the account owner downloads from Wistia, and a 90-minute webinar is text in about 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers five such webinars with 50 minutes to spare.
Wistia video to written resource
The webinar is already hosted. The written version is one download away.
Downloading from the media page
Wistia keeps the original file you uploaded, and account users with the right permissions can usually download it from the media's options. If you only see a compressed copy, check the export settings; either version carries the same words.
Webinars and training libraries
Marketing teams host recorded webinars, product tours and onboarding courses on Wistia, many of them an hour or longer. A library of forty 30-minute training videos is 1,200 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000.
From recording to written resource
The brief, chapters and the questions the webinar answers turn a recording into a blog post outline, a help-centre article or an FAQ. Presenters and panellists are named in the summary, quotes and chapters.
Captions for the embed
The SRT and VTT exports are standard caption files. Check your Wistia media settings for where captions are added, and the same files work in any other player.

- Captions bought separately for every video
- Training content nobody can search
- Panellists quoted without a timestamp
- A library that only plays
✓ Every video as text
Each download returns a transcript, a brief, chapters and caption files.
- About 3 minutes per 90-minute webinar
- First 20 minutes free on the first video
- Questions answered, listed for an FAQ
- Each panellist named in the summary and quotes
- Forty training videos on the $12 pack
- SRT and VTT for the embed

FAQ
Wistia videos, the common questions.
How long does a 90-minute Wistia webinar take?
Roughly 3 minutes, because processing runs near 2 minutes per hour of audio. A half-day virtual event of four hours takes about 8.
What does a training library cost, and is there a team plan?
One 90-minute webinar is 90 minutes on the $6 pack of 500. Forty 30-minute training videos are 1,200 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000, and a library above that goes on the $24 pack of 5,000. Teams that publish a webinar every week can choose the $19/month Workspace.
Does WhipScribe connect to my Wistia account?
No. There is no integration with Wistia and nothing is installed there: you download the video and upload it here. If the same video is also on YouTube or Vimeo, that link can be pasted instead.
How big is a long Wistia download, and does it need splitting?
A 90-minute 1080p video at 4 Mbps is about 2.7 GB (4,000,000 × 5,400 seconds ÷ 8), over the 2 GB that uploads before a pack; its MP3 at 128 kbps is about 86 MB. Each file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so splitting only applies past 10 hours.
Can it transcribe webinars in other languages?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, including Korean, Japanese and Hebrew, and a webinar that switches language is detected on its main one with the switches handled.
Which exports are there, and are internal videos kept private?
Exports: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, all from one pass. Internal training videos are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training a model.
