Transcribe Zoom Sessions recordings one session or the whole series.
Download the recording of a Zoom Sessions event and upload it here: a 90-minute session is text in about 3 minutes, at about 2 minutes per audio hour. The first 20 minutes are free, and a six-part series of 90-minute sessions (540 minutes) sits on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
Session by session
A series builds an audience over weeks. The text of each session builds the archive.
Download from the host account
Zoom Sessions recordings are saved for the host, usually as cloud recordings you can download as an MP4, often with an audio-only M4A beside it. Menus move between Zoom releases, so look in the session's recording settings or the host's recordings list. If you republish the session on YouTube or Vimeo, paste that link instead.
Upload paths by size
An audio-only M4A of a 90-minute session is small and fits the 500 MB box on this page. A long video file continues on the main upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before a first pack the limit is 2 GB per file; above that, the file starts once a pack is bought.
A series, priced
Six sessions at 90 minutes come to 540 minutes, just past the $6 pack's 500, so the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers the series and leaves 1,460 for the next one. One 2-hour single session, 120 minutes, fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes. The whole series is text in about 18 minutes.
What each session returns
A brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, and the names, numbers and dates said. Hosts and panelists are named in the summary and key quotes, and the questions the session answered come back as their own list for a follow-up email.
Between sessions
Registrants missed session three. The recap email says "watch the replay".

FAQ
Zoom Sessions recordings, answered.
Can WhipScribe join our session or read the recordings for us?
No. Nothing joins the session and there is no Zoom integration. Once the session ends, download the recording from the host account and upload it, or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link if you published it there.
Do we need consent to record and transcribe?
Record only with the consent the law where you and your attendees are requires; most hosts announce it at the start. Transcribing is then work on a recording you already hold.
How long until a session is text?
About 2 minutes per audio hour: a 90-minute session in about 3 minutes, a full-day 6-hour session in about 12. Upload every recording in a series and they run side by side.
What does it cost?
First-time visitors get the first 20 minutes free; a longer session is previewed, and a pack from $6 transcribes the rest. A single 2-hour session fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes; a 540-minute series needs the $12 pack of 2,000. Credits never expire.
Should we upload the MP4 or the M4A?
Either works. The audio-only file is smaller and faster to upload, and the transcript is the same because only the speech is transcribed. Use the MP4 when that is the only file you have.
Which languages and exports?
99 languages are detected automatically. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
