Transcribe Oireachtas sittings and committee hearings and quote the exact minute.
A recorded Oireachtas committee hearing usually runs two to four hours, and a 3-hour session comes back as timestamped text in about 6 minutes. A longer Dáil or Seanad sitting goes in as one file up to 10 hours. The first 20 minutes are free, and 180 minutes sits inside a $6 pack.

Six minutes for a committee
A committee hearing with opening statements and two rounds of questions is often around three hours. That much audio is ready in about six minutes, so a researcher or reporter can quote a witness while the hearing is still being discussed.
Your text, not the Official Report
The Oireachtas publishes its own official record of debates. This transcript is a fast working copy for searching and quoting while you wait for it, or for committee material you want as text straight away. Where the official version exists, cite that.
A sitting week on the $12 pack
A 3-hour committee session is 180 minutes on the $6 pack. Following a full week, say ten sessions averaging three hours, is 1,800 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 covers.
Questions and answers, pulled out
The brief records the questions put to witnesses and the answers given, with the names, figures and dates mentioned. Chapters mark each opening statement and each member's turn so you can move straight to the exchange you need.
Why sittings are hard to follow
The answer you need is somewhere in hour three.
✗ Watching the archive
Archived video of a sitting has no text to search, and the official record can take time to appear.
- Hours of archive video for one exchange
- A quote typed out while pausing playback
- Witness figures noted down by ear
- Tools that cap a file at an hour or less
- Several tabs open for one committee
- No way to search for a policy term
✓ Text of the whole session
Upload once and search the full sitting from the first statement to the adjournment.
- About 6 minutes for 3 hours
- Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file
- First 20 minutes free
- Members named in the summary and chapters
- Figures and dates listed with times
- SRT and VTT to caption a clip

FAQ
Oireachtas recordings, the common questions.
How long does a committee hearing take to transcribe?
Expect about 2 minutes for each hour of the session. A 3-hour hearing takes about 6 minutes, and an 8-hour sitting about 16.
What does it cost to follow a week of sittings?
A single 3-hour session is 180 minutes on the $6 pack of 500. Ten such sessions come to 1,800 minutes, inside the $12 pack of 2,000. Prices are in USD and credits never expire.
Can I paste the stream link?
Paste a YouTube link if the session is published there, including a live replay once the stream has ended. If the video is only on a player without a link we accept, download the file and upload it. Stream recordings longer than 6 hours start once a pack is on the account.
How large can the session file be?
A session file may be up to 10 hours long or 5 GB in size. Before the first pack, files up to 2 GB start straight away; larger ones start after a pack.
A sitting ran longer than 10 hours. What then?
Cut it into two files, each under 10 hours, and upload both. Each one keeps its own timestamps.
Which exports are there, and what happens to the recording?
SRT and VTT for captioning a clip, with TXT, DOCX and JSON alongside. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
