Transcribe a recording made in a boardroom figures, names and decisions.
A board meeting or AGM recorded in a boardroom, typically two to five hours, comes back at about 2 minutes per audio hour, so a four-hour meeting is ready in about 8 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the remaining 220 minutes of that meeting with room to spare.
Inside a boardroom recording
Ceiling microphones, a speakerphone and twelve people at one table.
What the table picks up
Boardrooms record through ceiling or table microphones, sometimes a conference unit in the middle. Directors near a microphone come through cleanly; a member dialled in over a speakerphone sounds narrow, and papers, cups and air conditioning sit under everything. Speech still carries, and the dial-in voice is the one to check.
The figures come out on their own
Revenue lines, budget amounts, headcount and dates are listed from what was said, so the secretary drafting minutes has the numbers in one place with the time each was mentioned. Every figure can be checked against the audio before it goes into the record.
Agenda items as chapters
Chapters with timestamps follow the agenda as it was spoken: apologies, the previous minutes, the finance report, each motion, any other business. Directors are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which is where a draft of minutes starts.
A year of meetings
Twelve monthly meetings of three hours each come to 2,160 minutes. That is just past the $12 pack, so the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers the year with enough left for an AGM and the committee meetings.
Minutes the hard way
The meeting ran long. The minutes are due before the next one.
✗ From notes and memory
The company secretary works from shorthand and replays the audio to confirm each figure.
- Replaying four hours to check a number
- Shorthand notes missing the motion wording
- A meeting bot that needs inviting
- Tools that cut a file at one hour
- No timestamps to settle a dispute
- A per-seat subscription for the board
✓ From the recording itself
The whole meeting comes back as text with the figures and decisions laid out.
- Around 8 minutes for a four-hour meeting
- Figures and dates listed with times
- Chapters following the agenda
- Directors named in quotes and chapters
- $6 for 500 minutes, $24 for 5,000
- A DOCX to start the minutes from

FAQ
Boardroom recordings, the practical questions.
How long does a long board meeting take to transcribe?
At about 2 minutes per hour of audio, a two-hour meeting is ready in roughly 4 minutes and a five-hour AGM in about 10.
What does a four-hour meeting cost?
For a first-time visitor the first 20 minutes are free. The remaining 220 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes, leaving 280 for the next meeting. A full year of monthly three-hour meetings calls for the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes.
Is this a substitute for formal minutes?
No. It is a timestamped transcript and a brief to draft minutes from. The secretary still decides what the minutes record and how motions are worded.
Our recording came off a video conference unit and is large. Can it be uploaded as it is?
The ceiling per file is 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first. Without a pack yet, uploads stop at 2 GB, and anything larger begins after a pack is added. A Teams recording is downloaded first, then uploaded.
Can a meeting in another language be transcribed?
99 languages are detected automatically, with no setting to choose. A meeting held mostly in one language is transcribed in it, and English with Tagalog in one meeting is handled.
Which formats come back, and who sees a confidential meeting?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON from a single run. Confidential discussion stays with us: recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete the meeting and its text when the minutes are approved.
