Transcribe Riksdag committee and debate recordings in Swedish, hours at a time.
A Riksdag committee hearing or chamber debate recording transcribes in about 2 minutes per hour, so a six-hour debate is ready in about 12 minutes, with Swedish detected automatically. The first 20 minutes are free, one six-hour debate of 360 minutes fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and three debate days of six hours, 1,080 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
For journalists, researchers and staff
A debate runs all afternoon. The quote you need is somewhere in hour four.
Getting the recording
Public hearings (offentliga utfrågningar) and chamber debates are streamed and archived. If the archive offers a download, save the file and upload it; if the session is on YouTube, paste that link, since other video pages are not fetched directly.
What this text is for
The transcript is an AI working text with timestamps, for research, reporting and preparation. It is not a certified or official transcript, and the Riksdag's own published record remains the authority.
A week of debates, counted
Three debate days of six hours each is 1,080 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes covers with 920 minutes to spare for committee hearings.
Long days, one file
A single file can run to 10 hours or 5 GB, so most debate days go up whole. A sitting that ran past 10 hours is uploaded as two files, cut at a pause between items.
Why debate recordings are slow to use
Archived video is complete, but nobody has time to watch six hours of it. Reporters on deadline and researchers comparing positions across several debates need the words, with a way back to the exact moment.
✗ Video archive only
The debate is online, and finding one exchange still takes an afternoon.
- Six hours of video for one reply
- Interventions hard to locate by speaker
- Figures quoted on the floor misremembered
- Committee hearings with no written summary
- Research notes made at playback speed
- Nothing to search across a parliamentary week
✓ Searchable sittings
Each debate or hearing becomes text tied to the moment on the recording.
- Text back while the sitting is still news
- Swedish recognised with no setting
- Chapters at each item and speaker change
- Figures, dates and bill references in the brief
- Chat to find what was said on one issue
- DOCX for research, SRT for the video

FAQ
Riksdag recordings: questions before uploading.
How long does a six-hour debate take?
About 12 minutes. On the public long-files proof page, a 9.31-hour recording finished in 1,033 seconds and a 4.94-hour one in 372 seconds.
What would a week of Riksdag recordings cost?
One six-hour debate is 360 minutes on the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Three such days are 1,080 minutes on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, and a season of committee hearings and debates above 2,000 minutes goes on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. All three packs are priced in US dollars and bought once.
Will a long debate video upload?
A sitting file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB are accepted, and a larger video starts once a pack is on the account. Convert a long video to MP3 first if the upload refuses it.
Is Swedish supported, and what about Finnish or English remarks?
Swedish is detected automatically, one of 99 languages. A sitting is detected on its main language and passages in another language are handled in the same transcript.
Can I quote the transcript as the official record?
Quote it for your own work only after checking the line against the recording at its timestamp. The official record is the one the Riksdag publishes, and for a formal citation that published record is what to cite.
Exports and privacy?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, with SRT useful for subtitling a clip of the debate. Riksdag recordings you upload are processed on our own servers and never used for training.
