Transcribe a full training day and find each module by its chapter.

A training day recorded in the UK runs 6 to 8 hours, and WhipScribe takes it as one file and returns it in about 15 minutes, chaptered so each module can be found by time. A 7-hour day is 420 minutes, which fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and the first 20 minutes are free.

What a full day turns into

A day of teaching, turned into notes people will open.

No cutting the day into pieces

A room camera or a recorder left running from nine to five produces one long file. That file goes in as it is, up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so lunch, breaks and the afternoon session stay on one continuous clock.

Chapters by module

The chapters follow the topics as the trainer moves through them: the morning briefing, each module, the case study, the questions at the end. Someone who missed the safeguarding section can jump straight to it instead of scrubbing through a recording. upload page

The arithmetic for one day

Seven hours is 420 minutes. The $6 pack holds 500, so one training day fits with 80 minutes left over. A three-day course of 21 hours is 1,260 minutes and fits the $12 pack of 2,000, with room for the next cohort's first day.

Notes for the people who were not there

The brief lists the takeaways the trainer stressed, and the chat answers questions like what the trainer said about the new reporting form. That is often all a colleague who was off sick needs.

Why training days rarely get transcribed

Most tools were built for a one-hour call, not a full working day.

✗ Short-call tools

A day-long file breaks most free tiers and many paid ones, so recordings sit on a shared drive that nobody opens.

  • Length caps of one or two hours per file
  • Manual splitting into eight parts
  • Eight separate clocks to reconcile
  • Typing estimates measured in weeks
  • No way to find one module
  • A video nobody has time to rewatch

✓ The full day, one upload

The recording goes in whole and comes out as a searchable document with chapters for each part of the day.

  • A file of up to 10 hours accepted
  • About 15 minutes for 7 hours of audio
  • Chapters by module with timestamps
  • Trainer and participants named in the summary
  • $6 pack covers a single day
  • Captions for the edited training video

00:12:05 Before module one, a reminder: fire exits are on both sides, and we break for lunch at half twelve.
02:48:30 Module three is the reporting form. I'll go through it line by line, then you'll fill one in from the case study.
02:55:14 If the incident happens off site, does it still go on the same form?
02:55:22 Same form, but tick box seven and add the address in the notes field.
06:41:48 That's the last module. Certificates will be emailed once you've completed the short assessment.

FAQ

Full training days, the practical questions.

How long does a 7-hour training day take to transcribe?

About 15 minutes. Processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, so 7 hours is about 14 minutes and an 8-hour day about 16.

What does an 8-hour day cost?

Eight hours is 480 minutes, so it fits the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 20 to spare. If you record several days a month, the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes holds four 8-hour days with time left over.

The video of the day is over 2 GB. Can I still upload it?

Yes, once a pack is on the account. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB; after it, a single file can be up to 5 GB and 10 hours. If the camera produced a larger file, export the audio track, which is a fraction of the size.

Do I need to cut out the breaks?

No. Silence and background chatter during breaks do not become text, and the chapters show where the sessions resume. Recordings longer than 10 hours are the only ones that need to go in as two files.

Can trainees who speak other languages use the transcript?

The recording is detected in its main language among 99, automatically. If the day was delivered in English, the transcript is in English; you can export TXT or DOCX and run it through any translation tool you already use.

Which exports suit a training team, and is the recording private?

DOCX for handouts, SRT or VTT to caption the training video, TXT for a learning platform, and JSON for anything automated. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
