DJI Mic 2 · internal WAV, 24-bit or 32-bit float

Transcribe the DJI Mic backup recording.

Each DJI Mic 2 transmitter keeps its own backup recording as WAV files, even when the camera audio was clipped or dropped out. Plug the transmitter into a computer, copy the files and drop them here: no conversion, 32-bit float included.

The file you have

What the transmitter writes to its own memory.

Format
WAV. 24-bit at 48 kHz, or 32-bit float when that mode is on. A Mono Safety Track mode also writes a second copy 6 dB lower.
Storage
8 GB inside each transmitter, no card slot: about 14 hours at 24-bit or 11 hours at 32-bit float. When it is full, recording stops.
File length
A new file starts every 30 minutes, or every 23 minutes in 32-bit float, so a long interview arrives as several consecutive WAVs.
Getting it off
Connect the transmitter to a computer with the USB-C cable and copy the files. Each transmitter holds only its own wearer's audio.

There is no link to paste for this one. The recording sits on the transmitter, so there is no link: copy the WAV files to your computer or phone and upload them in the box above.

How it works

Three steps, the first one is the only one that takes any thought.

1

Copy the WAVs

Connect the transmitter by USB-C and copy its files. A two-hour interview in 32-bit float is six files; keep them in order.

2

Drop them in the box

Upload each part. A WAV is large, so long parts continue on the main upload page, which sends them in pieces.

3

Read, then export

The summary and a preview are free. A pack opens the full transcript with TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON exports.

Good to know

What trips people up, and what to do about it.

Example. A 90-minute podcast interview recorded on two DJI Mic 2 transmitters in 32-bit float leaves four WAV files on each, about 1 GB per transmitter. Uploading the host's four files gives four transcripts with timestamps, chapters and quotes, and an SRT per part that lines up with camera footage synced to the same audio.

What comes back

More than a wall of text.

The same four things for every DJI Mic recording, whatever its length.

A transcript with timestamps

Every line carries its time. Click a line to hear that second again, or search a name or phrase and jump to each place it was said.

A summary, chapters and key quotes

A brief with the takeaways, chapters with their start times, and the quotes worth keeping. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.

Questions answered from the recording

Ask where a topic came up or what was decided, and get the answer with the time it was said, instead of scrolling the whole text.

Every export

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON from the same transcript: a document to edit, caption files for video, plain text to paste, structured data for your own tools.

Pricing

Free preview. Packs from $6, and the minutes never expire.

A 90-minute interview is 90 minutes, so the $6 pack (500 minutes) covers it 5 times over. Every recording gets a free preview and a summary you can read before paying; a pack opens the full transcript and every export. Packs are one-time purchases with no subscription and no seat fee.

What we measured, last 30 days

2,547 recordings, 1,244 audio hours, 66 languages detected. An hour of audio came back in 3.5 minutes for half of the recordings and within 18.0 minutes for nine in ten, measured from the moment the file landed to the finished transcript. Refreshed 2026-10-07; method on how we test.

FAQ

DJI Mic 2 internal recordings to text, answered.

How do I get the recordings off a DJI Mic 2 transmitter?

Connect the transmitter to a computer with the USB-C cable that came with it and copy the WAV files. Each transmitter stores only its own recording, up to 8 GB.

Can I upload a 32-bit float WAV?

Yes. 32-bit float and 24-bit WAVs are read directly; you do not need to convert or normalise them before uploading.

Why is my interview split into several files?

The DJI Mic 2 starts a new file every 30 minutes, or every 23 minutes in 32-bit float. Upload the parts in order, or join them first if you want one transcript with continuous timestamps.

The camera audio is bad. Is the transmitter copy better?

Usually. The internal recording is made at the microphone before the wireless link, so it has no wireless dropouts, and 32-bit float leaves headroom for loud moments. That is the file to transcribe.

What does transcribing DJI Mic recordings cost?

The preview and the summary are free. A pack opens the full transcript: $6 for 500 minutes, $8 for 1,000 minutes, $12 for 2,000 minutes, $24 for 5,000 minutes. Packs are one-time, credits never expire, and Workspace is $19 a month if you transcribe every week.

How long can the recording be?

One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The box on this page takes files up to 500 MB; a larger file continues on the main upload page, which uploads it in parts. Most recordings come back in about two minutes per hour of audio.

Is the recording kept private?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete a recording and its transcript at any time.
