What it is

Alta is AI-Media's IP-native caption encoder, the successor to the EEG HD492 SDI line. It encodes captions into ST 2110-40, NDI ancillary, MPEG-TS and SRT, and registers with iCap as a delivery endpoint for LEXI or a human captioner.

Best for: All-IP broadcast plants moving off SDI that still need CEA-608/708 caption insertion.
Watch out for: Requires either AI-Media LEXI subscription or a third-party caption feed; appliance lifecycle managed by AI-Media.
