EasyWhisperUI is a desktop app by a solo developer that wraps whisper.cpp in a point-and-click window. Version 3.1 (9 October 2026) ships a Windows 10/11 x64 installer and an Apple Silicon DMG for macOS 13 or later; Linux is a beta. It uses Vulkan on supported Windows GPUs and Metal on Apple Silicon, with a CPU-only fallback, downloads models for you, queues several files at once and writes TXT and SRT beside each original. The code is on GitHub, but the licence is proprietary: copying, modifying, distributing or using it is permitted for personal use only.
Watch out for: Personal use only under its licence. The Mac build is ad-hoc signed and not notarized, the Linux build is a beta, and speed depends on your GPU and the model you pick.
