3-hour call · about 6 min · private servers

Transcribe a long consulting call and quote the client precisely.

Consulting calls run from ninety minutes to three hours, and the deliverable has to reflect what the client actually said. Upload the consulting call recording and a three-hour call is back in about six minutes; it is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training.

Why consultants record long calls

The diagnosis is in what the client said in hour two.

Quotes you can cite in the deliverable

Key quotes with timestamps let a recommendation rest on the client's own words. When a finding says "the sales team bypasses the approval step", the quote and the minute are behind it.

Private by design

Client calls carry figures and plans that should not travel. Recordings are processed on our own servers rather than sent to a third-party AI service, and you can delete a recording and its transcript whenever you choose.

Ask the call what you missed

A chat over the transcript answers questions such as "what did the COO say about the warehouse lease", pointing to where in the call it came up.

Billable time back

Three hours of listening back is three hours not billed. At about 2 minutes per hour of audio, the call is text before you have finished writing up your first impressions.

Between the call and the deliverable

Three hours of client context, and an evening spent replaying it.

✗ Working from notes

You were asking questions and listening, not writing. The write-up happens late at night, from fragments, with the recording open in another window.

  • Findings built on paraphrase
  • Hours replaying the call at double speed
  • Details from the end of the call missed
  • Clients disputing what they said
  • Recordings sent to unknown processors
  • Notes that only make sense to their author

✓ Working from the transcript

The call as a document you can quote from. The write-up starts from the brief and the quotes, and the recording is only opened to check a single passage.

  • Quotes with the minute they were said
  • Names, numbers and dates listed in the brief
  • The end of the call as complete as the start
  • Speakers named in the summary and quotes
  • Processing on our own servers
  • A DOCX for the engagement file

Sample output

The line the recommendation rests on.

An illustrative passage, written for this page rather than drawn from a client. It is the kind of exchange a consultant would quote in a finding.

02:06:14 You mentioned the approval step twice now. How often does it actually get skipped?
02:06:22 On anything urgent, which is most of what sales sends. They go straight to the warehouse lead, and he ships it because he doesn't want to be the bottleneck.
02:06:48 So the control exists on paper but not in practice.
02:06:53 I wouldn't put it that way to the board. But yes.

FAQ

Consulting call recordings, answered.

How long does a three-hour consulting call take?

About six minutes once uploaded, since processing averages 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 90-minute call is back in about three.

What does a month of client calls cost?

One 3-hour call is 180 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. Twelve two-hour calls in a month are 1,440 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. Credits never expire, so a quiet month costs nothing.

How big can the call recording be?

The per-file limit is 10 hours or 5 GB, far above a typical client call. Without a pack yet, an upload can be up to 2 GB; a heavier file starts as soon as one is bought.

The call was recorded in two parts after a dropped connection. Do I join them?

No. Upload both recordings; each comes back with its own transcript, and both sit together in your Library. For a workshop-length engagement call that ran past 10 hours, the same advice applies: two files, never a trimmed one.

My clients are in Brazil and Japan. Does language matter?

It is detected automatically, from 99 languages. In the summary, key quotes and chapters, speakers are identified and named.

What exports are there, and who can see the call?

Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, and many consultants keep the DOCX in the engagement folder. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and only your account holds the transcript until you delete it.
