Quick answers

The five questions people ask before the first upload.

What does WhipScribe do for call center recordings?
Upload the recordings your dialer or PBX already keeps — GSM, 8 kHz WAV, MP3, a whole day's batch at once — and get each call back as a speaker-labelled transcript with timestamps.
How much does it cost?
Your first transcript is free at any length (leave an email to open it, no account). Your second is $0.99. After that, credit packs: $8 = 1,000 min · $12 = 2,000 min · $24 = 5,000 min; credits never expire and there is no seat fee. Workspace is $19 a month for unlimited transcription (700-hour fair-use mark).
How long does a transcript take?
A one-hour recording is usually ready in about two minutes; most files finish in under a minute. Files up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file.
Is it private?
Yes. Transcribed on our own servers; audio is never sent to a third-party AI service. Never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model. Delete a recording and its transcript at any time; account deletion removes every record tied to the email.
Which languages and files does it accept?
99+ languages, detected automatically; the transcript stays in the recording's language. Input: any audio or video file (MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, WEBM, MOV, GSM and more), a YouTube, podcast, RSS, Google Drive, Twitch or Kick link, or a microphone recording. Export: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON.

What matters when transcribing call center recordings?

01

Telephony audio, handled

Contact-center recorders save narrow-band audio: 8 kHz GSM, µ-law WAV, AMR. A 12-minute outbound call saved as .gsm comes back as readable text in the language it was spoken — no re-encoding first.

02

Script adherence on every call

Search each transcript for the lines your script requires: the greeting, the consent line, the price, the start date. Score a whole campaign instead of a sampled few, and see which agents skip which line.

03

Agent and caller, separated

Speaker labels split each call into turns. Rename to Agent and Caller and read one side alone — every objection the caller raised, every answer the agent gave.

04

Objections and outcomes, findable

Search a month of calls for "I don't have the bill", "call me back" or "cancel" and jump to the second it was said. The reasons a campaign stalls are in the calls, not in the disposition codes.

How it works

How do I transcribe a call center recording?

Step 1

Drop or paste

A file, a YouTube link, a podcast link or an RSS feed. Up to 10 hours or 5 GB.

Step 2

Read in a minute

Timestamps, a summary and AI chat over the transcript, plus speaker labels if you turned them on. Click any line to hear it.

Step 3

Get the brief, not just the text

The Intelligence tab reads the recording back to you: a short brief, chapters, the names and numbers that were said, and the questions it answers. Export TXT, SRT, VTT, DOCX or JSON whenever you want it elsewhere.

Outbound donor call — monthly gift by utility-bill debit

12 m · Portuguese (Brazil) · 1,600 words

Brief overview

The caller agrees to a monthly donation debited on her electricity bill; enrolment stays open until a bill with the consumer-unit number turns up.

  1. Three ways to give are offered at 02:10 — utility-bill debit, credit card, or twelve boleto slips; the caller chooses the electricity bill.
  2. Enrolment needs the consumer-unit number printed on a bill; none is at hand at 04:30 and the agent holds the line while someone searches.
  3. Details are collected from 07:50 once a bill is found; the agent invites the caller to visit the institution at 06:40.

Questions this recording answers

Did the caller agree to donate?
Yes — a monthly amount debited on the electricity bill, starting within 60 days of enrolment.
What stalled the call?
The consumer-unit number, printed only on a bill the caller could not find; the agent waited on the line instead of offering to call back.

Chapters

  • Greeting and the story of one child
  • Ways to give: bill debit, card, boleto
  • No bill at hand — the hold
  • Enrolment details, line by line

Questions

What else do people ask about call center transcription?

Does it handle GSM and 8 kHz call recordings?

Yes. Narrow-band telephony formats — .gsm, .amr, µ-law and 8 kHz .wav — are transcribed as they are. Expect slightly lower accuracy on very noisy lines; speaker labels and timestamps still work.

Can I transcribe calls in Portuguese or Spanish?

Yes — 99 languages, detected automatically per call. A Brazilian Portuguese donor call and a Spanish collections call in the same batch each come back in their own language, with an optional English copy.

How do I score script adherence?

Search each transcript for the required lines and for the words that must not appear. Export as TXT or JSON and run your rubric across the batch; the JSON carries per-line timestamps and speakers.

Score every call, not a sample.
