What the media team handles

A livestream on Sunday, a podcast on Monday, captions and sermon notes by Wednesday.

Straight from the livestream

A service streamed to YouTube can be pasted as a link once the stream ends, live replay included, and so can a Vimeo or Google Drive link. A replay held only on a social platform is downloaded first. The desk recording of the sermon is often small enough for the box above, which takes up to 500 MB; larger files continue on upload page.

What comes back each week

A brief with the sermon's thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the scripture references, names and dates said, and the questions the sermon answers. Songs and instrumental music are not transcribed. Preachers and readers are named in the summary and chapters when introduced.

A month, a series, a year

Four 90-minute services are 360 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500. Add four midweek studies of an hour and the month is 600 minutes, which the $12 pack of 2,000 covers. Fifty-two Sundays come to 4,680 minutes, inside the $24 pack of 5,000. Credits never expire.

The caution: what was said in prayer

Prayer requests, pastoral notices and testimonies can name people and their circumstances. Read the transcript before publishing it, and remove anything personal. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.

Why the sermon archive stays as video

The service is streamed every week. Turning it into text is the job nobody has time for.

✗ Volunteers and auto-captions

A volunteer types sermon notes, or the platform's captions guess at the worship lyrics and the preacher's names.

  • Sermon notes typed on a weeknight
  • Captions with garbled song lyrics
  • Finding the sermon start by scrubbing
  • Free tools that stop before the sermon
  • No searchable sermon archive
  • A monthly fee for a weekly file

✓ Sunday as text by Sunday evening

Paste the livestream link after the service and the week's content starts from text.

  • About 3 minutes per 90-minute service
  • Chapters that mark the sermon
  • Scripture references in the brief
  • SRT and VTT for the posted video
  • DOCX for sermon notes and small groups
  • $24 for the whole year

FAQ

Transcription for church media teams, answered.

How long does a service take?

About 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 90-minute service is ready in around 3 minutes and a two-hour Easter service in about 4.

What does a sermon series cost?

An eight-week series of 40-minute sermons is 320 minutes and fits the $6 pack of 500. The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, and leftover credits roll into the next series.

Several volunteers upload. Do we need a team plan?

Not usually; one account with a pack works for most churches. A $19 a month Workspace exists for a team that records every week. Credit packs stay one-time with no subscription.

How large can a service video be?

Each file may be as long as 10 hours or as large as 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads up to 2 GB start right away; a larger file starts once a pack is on the account. Streams over 6 hours also start after a pack.

We hold services in two languages.

The main language of each file is detected automatically, from 99. A Spanish or Korean service comes back in that language; if one service switches halfway, upload each part on its own.

Which formats do we get?

TXT and DOCX for sermon notes and small-group guides, SRT and VTT for captions on the posted video, and JSON for a church website. One upload produces all five.
