Transcription for rabbis and teachers of shiurim long shiurim, as text your talmidim can review.
A 75-minute shiur comes back as text in about 2.5 minutes, with chapters at each source and the sources cited aloud gathered in a brief, and Hebrew and English are detected automatically. A daily 40-minute shiur, five days a week for four weeks, is 800 minutes, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes; the first 20 minutes are free.
What a maggid shiur records
Years of shiurim are a library. Text makes it one you can search.
How shiurim are recorded
A phone on the shtender, a recorder in the beis medrash, or a stream on YouTube or Vimeo for talmidim who cannot attend. Files upload as they are, and posted shiurim can be pasted as a link. A podcast feed of a series can be pasted too.
Following the sugya
Chapters mark each new source, question and answer, so a talmid reviewing before the next shiur can go straight to the second answer instead of listening from the start. The brief lists the sources, names and numbers cited aloud.
The caution: check the quoted text
A shiur in English with Hebrew and Aramaic quoted from the page is detected on its main language. Quoted words may come back in Latin letters or in Hebrew script, and Aramaic is the part most worth checking against the sefer before anything is printed. One review pass with the source open is enough for a handout.
Long recordings, big series
A shiur of 1 to 2 hours is a small audio file. The box here takes files up to 500 MB, and a long video of a yom iyun continues on the main upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file and 2 GB before the first pack.

FAQ
Questions from rabbis and teachers, answered.
How long does a shiur take to transcribe?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 40-minute shiur is ready in under 2 minutes, a 75-minute one in about 2.5, and a 2-hour shiur in about 4.
What does a month or a year cost?
A daily 40-minute shiur, five days a week, is 200 minutes a week and 800 a month, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. A weekly 60-minute parsha shiur for a year is 3,120 minutes, inside the $24 pack of 5,000. Four weekly shiurim in a month, 240 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Does a shiur in Hebrew work?
Yes. Hebrew is detected automatically and comes back in Hebrew script, and English comes back in Latin letters. A shiur that switches between them is detected on its main language and the switches are handled.
What about Yiddish?
Yiddish is among the 99 languages detected automatically. A shiur mostly in English with Yiddish phrases comes back in English, with the phrases worth a check.
Will the talmidim's questions come through?
Questions near the microphone come through; questions from the back of a large room may be faint. The person giving the shiur is named in the summary, key quotes and chapters when the recording introduces them.
Is the recording kept private?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. A shiur can be deleted from the account whenever you choose.
