120 minutes · about 4 min · a working copy for the file

Transcribe a 2-hour mediation and keep the terms you talked through.

A 2-hour mediation is 120 minutes of audio, and it turns into a timestamped working transcript in about 4 minutes; the recording is usually 100 to 800 MB, well under the 5 GB you can upload before buying anything. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.

Two hours at the table

The positions, the numbers and the movement, written down.

What it is, and what it is not

This is an AI transcript to work from: notes for the mediator, a reference for counsel, a reminder of where each side stood at the second hour. It is not a certified or official transcript and not legal advice, and it does not replace the written settlement terms the parties sign. Many mediations are confidential, so record only when everyone at the table has agreed to it.

Joint session and caucus, one file each

Mediators who record usually capture the opening joint session and sometimes the shuttle rounds. If the caucuses were recorded separately, upload each as its own file and the chapters stay clean: one recording, one room, one set of timestamps. A 2-hour joint session uses 120 minutes of the pack; a 40-minute caucus uses 40.

Offers and dates, pulled out

The brief lists the amounts, dates and names spoken aloud, each with its timestamp. When a figure moved from one round to the next, you can see both moments without scrubbing the audio. The mediator and the parties are named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters.

Remote sessions upload as they are

A mediation held over Zoom or Teams arrives as an MP4 or an M4A audio file; a session recorded on a phone in the room is often an M4A or WAV. Upload it as it is in the box above, or on upload page for a larger video. Silence while a party reads a document produces no text and costs nothing extra.

Why the notes never match

Two hours of back-and-forth is hard to reconstruct from a legal pad.

✗ Working from memory

After the session, the mediator rebuilds the discussion from handwritten notes.

  • Offers noted without the time they were made
  • A deadline mentioned once and lost
  • Hours of audio nobody will replay
  • Typing a two-hour session by hand
  • Free tools that stop after 30 or 40 minutes
  • One side remembering the terms differently

✓ Working from the text

The session becomes a document you can search for any word, figure or name.

  • About 4 minutes from upload to text
  • A free preview of the opening minutes for a new account
  • Packs from $4 for 300 minutes
  • Chapters for each issue on the table
  • Every amount listed with its minute
  • Five export formats from a single run

00:21:40 Before we break into separate rooms, let me summarise where each side stands on the repair costs.
00:22:15 Our figure is based on the contractor's estimate from March, which we shared last week.
00:22:38 And our position is that half of that work was already in the original scope.
01:41:02 If the payment can be made in two instalments, we can move closer to the middle.
01:41:30 Then let us write down the dates for both instalments before anyone leaves the room.

FAQ

2-hour mediations, the common questions.

How long does a 2-hour mediation take to transcribe?

Close to 4 minutes, since every audio hour takes around 2 minutes to process. The public run at /proof/long-files shows 9.31 hours finished in 1,033 seconds, so a single session is short work.

What will a 2-hour mediation cost?

Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire. A mediator who records eight 2-hour sessions a month uses 960 minutes. Nothing renews: the credits stay on the account until used.

Is this a certified record of the mediation?

No. It is a timestamped working copy for notes, preparation and follow-up. Settlement terms still belong in the written agreement the parties sign.

How large is the file, and what if it is bigger than 2 GB?

Two hours of audio is about 115 MB at 128 kbps, and a video call recording is usually a few hundred megabytes. Before a pack, uploads already go up to 5 GB; a larger file needs a split or an audio-only export.

What if the full day ran longer than 10 hours?

One file can be up to 10 hours. A mediation that ran past that, recorded continuously, goes in as two files, and each gets its own brief and chapters.

Who can read the recording?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete the file and its transcript whenever you choose, which matters for a confidential session.
