Three hours of exam prep

A review lecture is dense on purpose. Text lets you take it apart.

Where the recording comes from

Some candidates record a live review class on a phone, where the course allows it; others download the session video their provider makes available, or have a link to an instructor's YouTube upload. A file goes in the box here up to 500 MB, and a heavier video continues on the upload page. Paste a YouTube or Google Drive link and nothing has to upload from your side.

Chapters that follow the syllabus

Instructors move topic by topic: a standard, the rule, a worked problem, the trap the exam sets. Chapters tend to land at those turns with a timestamp, so the hour on leases or the half hour on basis adjustments opens directly, without dragging a progress bar.

Numbers you have to memorise

The brief lists the figures, percentages, dollar thresholds and dates the instructor says aloud, each tied to its moment in the recording. That list turns into flashcards quickly, and every item can be checked against the audio before you commit it to memory.

Ask the lecture a question

The chat answers over the full transcript: where the instructor walked through the deferred tax example, or what the mnemonic for the audit opinion types was. It points to the place in the lecture, so you can replay those ninety seconds instead of the whole block.

Reviewing without a transcript

Rewatching three hours to find one example costs a study evening.

✗ Video only

A review video is easy to start and hard to search, and handwritten notes miss the second half of every worked problem.

  • Scrubbing for the one journal entry you need
  • Notes that stop when the example speeds up
  • Playback at double speed to save time
  • No way to search a term across lectures
  • Free tools that end after the first hour
  • Figures copied wrong from a paused frame

✓ The lecture as a document

One file, one clock, and every rule and figure searchable.

  • About 6 minutes for the full 180
  • Chapters at each topic change
  • Thresholds and dates listed with timestamps
  • A brief with the takeaways per topic
  • Search across every lecture you upload
  • DOCX for annotating, SRT for the video

00:04:12 Tonight is leases, then consolidations after the break. Have the practice set open for the second half.
00:37:50 Watch the wording here. If ownership transfers at the end of the term, it is a finance lease, full stop.
01:22:05 Write the entry with me: debit the right-of-use asset, credit the lease liability, same amount at commencement.
02:18:40 This is where candidates lose points. The intercompany sale has to come out before you add the columns.
02:56:30 Do questions one through twenty before Thursday, and flag the ones on noncontrolling interest.

FAQ

3-hour CPA review lectures, answered.

How long does a 3-hour CPA review lecture take to transcribe?

About 6 minutes. Processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, and the public timing page shows a 9.31-hour file finished in 1,033 seconds. Feel free to close the tab, because the finished text is saved to your Library.

What does it cost, and what about a whole section of lectures?

Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes. Credits never expire, so the balance carries into the next section.

Can I transcribe lectures from my review course?

If you can download the session or legally record it, yes: upload the file or paste a YouTube or Google Drive link. Check your course terms first, because some providers do not allow recordings. Videos that only stream inside a course player cannot be fetched by link; download the recording if the course offers that, then upload it.

The lecture video is 3.2 GB. Will it go through?

Before the first pack, uploads go up to 5 GB; a file between 2 and 5 GB starts right away. An audio-only copy of the same three hours at 128 kbps is about 173 MB and uploads straight away.

Will the accounting terms and acronyms come out right?

Standard vocabulary, acronyms and section names such as FAR, AUD and REG usually come through, and English is detected automatically. Figures read fast during a worked problem are worth checking against the slide or the audio, which is what the timestamps are for. No transcript replaces the official exam materials.

Which exports do I get, and who sees the recording?

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. A 3-hour file stays one transcript, and a single file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, so only a full-day bootcamp recorded past 10 hours needs splitting into two. Review-course recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
