Transcribe a 3-hour workshop and send the write-up the same afternoon.
A 3-hour workshop is 180 minutes of audio and it is ready as text with chapters in about 6 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. A call recording of that length is usually under 1.5 GB, inside the 2 GB allowed before a pack, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes takes two such workshops with 140 minutes left after the first 20 minutes free.
A half day in the room
Three hours of thinking aloud, turned into something you can act on.
A half-day, structured
A 3-hour workshop usually has an opening, two or three working blocks, a break and a closing round. The chapters mark each of those with a start time, and the break simply produces no text. Anyone who missed the second block reads that chapter instead of the whole morning.
The record of what was agreed
The brief lists decisions, owners, dates and figures with the minute they came up. The facilitator and the people who spoke are named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters, and the chat over the transcript answers questions such as which risks the group flagged.
Camera files and call files
A room camera can produce a 3 to 5 GB file for three hours; a Zoom, Teams or Meet recording is far smaller. Upload in the box above or on upload page. A file over 2 GB starts once a pack is on the account, and a Google Drive or Vimeo link skips the upload.
Workshop series
A two-day workshop recorded as four 3-hour blocks is 720 minutes. That fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 1,280 left for the follow-up sessions, and credits never expire, so the balance waits for the next cohort. A single 3-hour session on its own stays on the $6 pack.
Why long workshops lose their output
By the third hour, nobody is taking notes any more.
✗ The usual write-up
A tired facilitator turns flipcharts into a summary the next day.
- Early discussion remembered better than the end
- Decisions written without who agreed
- A file too big for the free tool
- Three hours of video nobody replays
- The quiet participant's point missing
- Follow-up emails sent a week late
✓ The workshop as text
Three hours become a searchable record within minutes.
- Text roughly 6 minutes after upload
- Chapters for each block and report-back
- Decisions and owners in the brief
- Quotes for the write-up
- 140 minutes left after two on the $6 pack
- TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON

FAQ
3-hour workshops, the common questions.
How long does a 3-hour workshop take?
About 6 minutes. Our published run at /proof/long-files shows 9.31 hours in 1,033 seconds, so three hours is a short wait.
How many workshops fit on a pack?
Two 3-hour workshops use 360 of the 500 minutes on the $6 pack and leave 140. A third would need 540 minutes in total, so a team running several belongs on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes, which holds eleven.
The camera file is 4 GB. Can I upload it?
Yes once a pack is on the account; files go up to 5 GB. Before a pack the limit is 2 GB, and saving the audio alone makes three hours about 175 MB.
Can I transcribe a whole workshop day in one file?
Yes, up to 10 hours in a single file. A residential programme recorded continuously beyond 10 hours goes in as two files.
What about group exercises where several people talk at once?
Clear speech is transcribed; overlapping voices can lose words. The timestamps show where to listen again, and background music and room noise are left out.
Is the recording private?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete the file and its transcript from your account at any time.
