Transcribe an 8-hour workshop from the opening round to the wrap-up.
An 8-hour workshop is 480 minutes of audio, and WhipScribe turns it into one timestamped transcript in about 16 minutes. Packs start at $4 for 300 minutes, and credits never expire.
A full working day
Keep what the room produced, not just the sticky notes.
Room recorder, Zoom or Teams
In-person workshops are usually captured on a room recorder, a camera at the back, or a phone on the facilitator's table; remote ones on Zoom or Teams. A single audio file is the lightest option, and heavy day-long video goes through upload page.
Sixteen minutes for the day
Roughly 2 minutes of processing per audio hour means an eight-hour day comes back in about 16. The public proof page records a 9.31-hour file done in 1,033 seconds.
Exercises and debriefs as chapters
Chapters split the day at each exercise, break-out report and debrief. The brief lists the decisions, figures and next steps people said out loud, and the chat can pull every mention of a topic across all eight hours.
Workshops by the month
Eight hours uses 480 of the 3,000 minutes in the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes. A workshop every week for a month is 1,920 minutes, which fits the $18 pack of 3,000 with 1,080 left; a busier program of six is 2,880 minutes on the $18 pack of 3,000 minutes.
When the workshop ends
Eight hours of discussion usually shrinks to one page of notes.

FAQ
Eight-hour workshops: common questions.
How long does transcription take for 8 hours?
About 16 minutes at 2 minutes per audio hour. You can leave the page; the transcript lands in your Library. A full workshop of 480 minutes is one job: it does not wait in line behind itself, and you get a single document rather than parts.
My camera file is 9 GB.
A single file can be up to 5 GB. Export the audio, roughly 460 MB for eight hours, or a lower-resolution copy. Files up to 5 GB start with a free preview, pack or not.
The workshop ran two days. One file or two?
Upload one file per day. A single file holds up to 10 hours, so only an unbroken recording longer than that needs cutting.
Will break-out rooms be in the transcript?
Only what the recorder heard. If each break-out group recorded on its own phone, upload those files separately and each gets its own brief. Background music during breaks is not transcribed. A room recorder in the middle of the table usually picks up the plenary discussion well; voices far from it come through more faintly, so a second phone near the presenter helps.
Which formats, languages, and who sees the file?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, with 99 languages detected automatically. Workshop recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used to train anything.
