90 to 120 minute services · about 4 min each · first 20 min free

Transcribe church services in Australia every Sunday, in minutes.

Most Australian church services run 90 to 120 minutes, and a 2-hour recording comes back as text in about 4 minutes, with the sermon in its own chapter. The first 20 minutes are free, a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers four full services, and a church that records every week can use the $19 a month Workspace for the media team.

What one Sunday becomes

The whole service as text, with the sermon easy to lift out.

From the livestream replay

Many churches stream to YouTube on Sunday morning. Paste the replay link once the stream ends and the audio is fetched for you. A file from the desk recorder or a phone in the front row can be uploaded on upload page instead.

The sermon in its own chapter

Welcome, worship, readings, the message, prayer and notices each get a timestamped chapter. The music is not transcribed, only the speech, so the text moves straight from the reading into the sermon without lyrics in between.

Every reference written down

Chapter and verse references, event dates, names of ministry groups and the numbers in the notices are listed beside the transcript. A small group leader can pull the passages for the week's study in a minute.

For the team that records weekly

Fifty-two services a year adds up. A single $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers about forty-one two-hour services, and credits never expire. If several people on the media team upload every week, the $19 a month Workspace keeps them in one place.

Why services rarely get written up

Two hours every week is a lot of typing for a volunteer.

✗ Typing it up on Monday

Someone listens back, pauses, types, and gives up halfway through the second point.

  • Two hours of audio to type every week
  • Song lyrics mixed into auto captions
  • Sermon notes that miss the best line
  • No timestamps for the replay
  • Readings without their references
  • Archives nobody can search

✓ Upload once after the service

The service comes back while the coffee is still being poured.

  • Back in about 4 minutes after the service
  • Speech kept, music left out
  • Chapters for each part of the service
  • Preacher named in summary and quotes
  • Captions for the replay video
  • A searchable archive of past series

00:02:15 Good morning, and a special welcome if this is your first Sunday with us. Morning tea is in the hall after the service.
00:31:40 Our reading this morning is from the Gospel of Luke, chapter ten, beginning at verse twenty-five.
00:44:05 The lawyer asks who his neighbour is, and the answer he gets is a story, not a definition. Hold on to that as we go.
01:12:48 So the question for this week is not who deserves our help. It is who we walked past on Tuesday.
01:38:22 Youth group is back on Friday night at seven, and the working bee is on the last Saturday of the month.

FAQ

Church service recordings, the common questions.

How long does a 2-hour service take to transcribe?

Around four minutes. Processing runs at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 90-minute service is usually done in about 3 minutes. You can close the page and find it in your Library later.

What does a year of Sunday services cost?

Fifty-two services of two hours is 6,240 minutes. The $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers about forty-one of them, and a second pack covers the rest of the year. For one term of about sixteen services, the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes is enough. Both prices are in US dollars.

Is the worship music transcribed?

No. Music, sound effects and crowd noise are not transcribed; the speech is. A song with a spoken prayer over it will usually keep the prayer and leave the singing out.

Our recordings are long videos. Are they too big to upload?

Each file may run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB, which covers most two-hour services. If the service is on YouTube, pasting the link avoids the upload entirely.

Can services in other languages be transcribed?

Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, so a service held in Korean, Mandarin or Spanish is handled without choosing a setting. The preacher and readers are named in the summary, quotes and chapters.

What formats come back, and who sees the recording?

Five formats come back: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Delete a service and its text whenever you choose.
