Transcribe eikaiwa lesson recordings and read back what you actually said.
A recorded eikaiwa (英会話) lesson of 40 to 90 minutes is transcribed in 2 to 3 minutes, and when the lesson moves between English and Japanese the switches are handled. The first 20 minutes are free, so a short lesson costs nothing, and twelve 50-minute lessons, 600 minutes, fit on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
What a lesson recording turns into
The sentence you stumbled on, and the way your teacher fixed it, written down.
Read your own English
Hearing yourself is useful; reading yourself is better. The transcript shows the sentences you built, so repeated mistakes with articles or tense are easy to spot across a month of lessons.
English lesson, Japanese help
A lesson that is mostly English, with explanations in Japanese, is detected on its main language and the switches into the other are handled. Nothing needs to be set before the upload.
Corrections you can find
The chat over the transcript finds where your teacher corrected a phrase or explained an idiom, and gives the timestamp so you can hear the pronunciation again.
Online or in a school
An online lesson recorded from your computer, or a phone on the table in a classroom, both work. Ask your teacher before recording, and upload the file on the upload page.
Why lesson recordings get forgotten
You record the lesson to review it. Listening again to a whole hour rarely happens.
✗ Recordings on your phone
Each lesson is saved, but replaying them takes as long as the lessons did.
- New words you heard once and forgot
- Corrections remembered only vaguely
- An hour of audio for one phrase
- No record of how you improved
- A tool that only handles one language
- Notes written in a rush after class
✓ Lessons you can study
Each lesson becomes text you can read, search and turn into a vocabulary list.
- About 2 minutes for a 1-hour lesson
- Teacher named in the summary
- Japanese explanations kept in place
- Phrases and corrections easy to search
- One pack for a month of lessons
- TXT for your own word lists

FAQ
Eikaiwa lesson recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 1-hour lesson take to transcribe?
About 2 minutes, and a 40-minute lesson a little over 1. Upload after class and read it the same evening.
What does a month of lessons cost?
Twelve 50-minute lessons are 600 minutes, on the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. If you take two lessons a week, eight lessons of 50 minutes come to 400 minutes, which fits on the $6 pack of 500. Those amounts are in US dollars.
What happens when the lesson switches between English and Japanese?
The recording is detected on its main language, usually English for a conversation lesson, and the switches into Japanese are handled. Check short Japanese asides against your memory of the lesson. A lesson taught mostly in Japanese, such as a grammar class, is detected as Japanese and the English examples are handled the same way.
Can I record an online lesson?
Ask your teacher or school first, since many have rules about recording. If they agree, a screen or audio recording saved on your computer uploads directly, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file.
Will my mistakes be corrected in the transcript?
No. The transcript records what was said, mistakes included, which is the point: you see your own sentences as you spoke them. Highlight the corrections your teacher made and you have next week's practice list.
Which exports are there, and who sees the lesson?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
