Transcribe long recordings from BoxCast every archived service, word for word.
To transcribe a BoxCast recording, download the archived broadcast from your account and upload it here; a 90-minute service comes back as text in about 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, a $6 pack of 500 minutes covers five such services, and a full year of Sundays fits the $24 pack.
From the broadcast archive
Your media team already has the file. That file is all this needs.
Downloading the broadcast
Archived broadcasts are downloaded by the account holder from BoxCast, usually as an MP4; check the download options in your dashboard for the quality to pick. WhipScribe has no BoxCast integration and nothing runs inside the stream: it works on the file once the service is over.
Whose service it is
Transcribe your own congregation's or school's broadcasts, or ones you have permission for. If a guest preacher or a visiting choir is involved, the usual permissions your church already uses for the stream apply to the text too.
A year of Sundays
A 90-minute service every week for 52 weeks is 4,680 minutes. That is more than the $12 pack holds, so the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes covers the year with 320 minutes left, at $0.29 an audio hour. Five services fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
What the team does with it
Each service comes back with a brief of the sermon's thesis and takeaways, chapters for the welcome, readings, sermon and announcements, and the names, dates and figures that were said. Worship songs are not transcribed; the spoken parts are, and the preacher is named in the summary and chapters.
Typing up a service by hand
A volunteer with headphones is not a transcription plan.

FAQ
BoxCast recordings, the common questions.
How long does a 90-minute BoxCast service take?
A 90-minute BoxCast service is ready in about 3 minutes. A 2-hour service with a long worship set takes around 4. The proof page lists a 2.48-hour file done in 200 seconds.
How much does a year of services cost?
On a first visit, the first 20 minutes of a service are free. Five 90-minute services fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Fifty-two of them come to 4,680 minutes, which belongs on the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. A team that records several events every week can also look at the $19 a month Workspace.
Can I paste the BoxCast link?
No, BoxCast links are not read. Download the broadcast and upload the file. If your church also sends the stream to YouTube or Vimeo, that replay link can be pasted directly.
The downloaded broadcast is over 2 GB.
Uploads up to 2 GB start before the first pack, and larger files start once a pack is on the account. A downloaded broadcast may be up to 5 GB or 10 hours long. A high-quality 90-minute download at 6 Mbps is about 4 GB (6 × 5,400 seconds = 32,400 megabits), so a lower-quality download is often easier.
Our services mix English and another language. Will that work?
The service is detected on its main language among 99, and switches into a second language are handled. A bilingual reading or a prayer in another language stays in the transcript.
Which downloads do we get, and is the service private?
Each service downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
