From the share to searchable text

Company shares fill with recorded trainings, town halls and workshops. Nobody can search what is said in them.

Download from the share

Open the folder on the Egnyte web app or the desktop app and download the recordings you need; with the desktop app the files may already appear in a synced folder on your computer. Egnyte links are not fetched by WhipScribe, so work from the downloaded copy. Check you have permission to process them. Keep the folder structure in mind: the file name you upload becomes the transcript's title, so a dated name saves sorting later.

Upload one file at a time, or many

The box here takes a file up to 500 MB. A long video often weighs more; upload it from the main upload page, which accepts up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Before the first pack, uploads cap at 2 GB, so a large training video waits until a pack is bought.

Pricing the archive

One three-hour all-hands is 180 minutes of the $6 pack of 500. The 25-session archive at 90 minutes each is 2,250 minutes, past the $12 pack's 2,000, so the $24 pack of 5,000 covers it. A monthly team of new trainings fits the remainder for months.

What a training session becomes

A brief with the main points, chapters with timestamps at each topic, the names, numbers and dates spoken, and the questions the session answers. Presenters and those who ask questions are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and a chat finds where a topic came up.

Where share archives go unused

Two years of recorded trainings. No one remembers which one covered expenses.

✗ An archive nobody searches

The knowledge is recorded but out of reach.

  • Twenty-five sessions nobody replays
  • Folder names the only index
  • New hires sent hour-long videos
  • Policies explained once, then lost
  • Large videos refused by small tools
  • Notes written by whoever attended

✓ An archive you can read

Download, upload, and each session becomes a document.

  • An all-hands in about 6 minutes
  • Chapters at each topic
  • 2,250 minutes on the $24 pack
  • Dates and figures listed
  • DOCX to save back to the share
  • A chat to ask the transcript

FAQ

Egnyte recordings, answered.

How long does a three-hour recording take?

About 6 minutes after uploading, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A 90-minute training session is back in about 3.

Can WhipScribe read the Egnyte folder directly?

No. There is no Egnyte integration, connector or app. Download the files and upload them; share links from Egnyte are not fetched.

Which links can be pasted instead?

YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch and Kick videos, Google Drive share links and folders, and podcast feeds. Anything else, Egnyte included, is downloaded first. A video that also lives on a company Vimeo or YouTube channel can be pasted from there instead of downloaded.

What does a whole archive cost?

Twenty-five 90-minute sessions are 2,250 minutes, on the $24 pack of 5,000. Under 2,000 minutes fits the $12 pack, and a single all-hands of 180 minutes uses part of the $6 pack of 500.

What if a recording is over 10 hours?

Split it into two files before uploading; each can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Files over 2 GB need a pack on the account first.

Is company audio kept private?

Company recordings are transcribed on our own servers, never for training. Remove them from your account once the transcripts are saved back to the share.
