ShareFile download · then upload · first 20 min free

Transcribe long recordings shared through ShareFile from a client's folder to a deliverable.

Download the recordings a client shared through ShareFile and upload each one: four two-hour sessions, eight hours in all, are text in about 16 minutes. Those 480 minutes fit the $6 pack of 500 with 20 left, and the first 20 minutes of a first upload are free.

From a ShareFile folder to text

Accountants, lawyers and consultants receive long recordings this way. The client expects text back.

Download before the link lapses

ShareFile links and request folders can be set to expire, so download the recordings as soon as they arrive. Several files may come as one ZIP; unzip it and keep the original names, which become the transcript titles. ShareFile links are not fetched by WhipScribe, so the download step is needed. If a file arrives inside a password-protected archive, open it with the password the client sent before uploading.

Upload each recording

A file up to 500 MB goes in the box above. A long video can be larger; send it from the main upload page, which takes up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. Before a first pack, uploads stop at 2 GB, so a 3 GB video starts once a pack is on the account.

Quote the job before you start

Four two-hour sessions are 480 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500. If the client adds a fifth, the 600 minutes pass 500 and the $12 pack of 2,000 fits. A quarter of weekly three-hour sessions, 39 hours or 2,340 minutes, goes on the $24 pack of 5,000.

What goes back to the client

Each recording returns with a brief giving the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates said, and the questions it answers. Each participant is identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Upload the DOCX back into the client's ShareFile folder yourself.

Where shared recordings slow the job

The client shared the folder in a minute. The listening takes days.

✗ Eight hours in a shared folder

Long recordings arrive; the work has not started.

  • Eight hours of client audio typed
  • Links that expire before you start
  • Video too large for short-clip tools
  • Recordings split to fit an upload box
  • No summary to send ahead
  • Billing time spent replaying audio

✓ Downloaded, uploaded, delivered

Each recording returned as text with a brief.

  • About 16 minutes for 8 hours
  • One transcript per file
  • 480 minutes from the $6 pack
  • Chapters and timestamps
  • Key quotes with speakers named
  • DOCX to put back in the folder

FAQ

ShareFile recordings, answered.

How long do four two-hour recordings take?

About 16 minutes of processing in total, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio, and each file finishes on its own.

Can I paste a ShareFile link?

No. ShareFile links are not fetched; download the files, then upload them. Pasted links work for YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch, Kick, Google Drive and podcast feeds.

Does WhipScribe connect to ShareFile?

No. There is no ShareFile integration, connector or app. You download from ShareFile and upload here, then put the results back yourself.

What does the job cost?

Eight hours is 480 minutes, on the $6 pack of 500. Ten hours, 600 minutes, needs the $12 pack of 2,000. A 2,340-minute quarter fits the $24 pack of 5,000. Credits never expire.

One of the files is over 2 GB. Will it go?

Yes, once a pack is on the account; files up to 5 GB or 10 hours then upload. Before that, extract the audio from the video, which is far smaller.

How are client files handled?

They are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. Delete them from your account when the work is delivered.
