SharePoint MP4 · ~2 min per audio hour · packs from $6

Transcribe long recordings stored in SharePoint the MP4 in your site library.

A Teams channel meeting is saved as an MP4 in the channel's SharePoint site, usually in a Recordings folder of its document library; download it and upload it here, and a 2.5-hour town hall becomes text in about 5 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers the 150-minute recording with 350 left.

From the site library to text

SharePoint stores the meeting for the whole team. The transcript makes it readable by the whole team.

Where the recording sits

For a meeting held in a Teams channel, the recording goes to that channel's SharePoint site, normally under Documents in a folder for the channel with a Recordings subfolder. Select the MP4 there and choose Download. Files you uploaded yourself sit wherever you put them in the library.

When Download is missing

Some sites set recordings to view only, which hides the Download command. The person who recorded the meeting, or a site owner, can usually change that or save a copy for you. Ask before the recording's expiry date if your organisation sets one.

Why the link stays inside

A SharePoint link needs your organisation's sign-in to open, so it is not something we can fetch, and pasting it would only lead to a login page. Upload the downloaded MP4 instead; a file larger than this box handles goes through the upload page.

Minutes the team can check

A long town hall returns a brief with the thesis and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, every name, figure and date that was said, and the questions it answers. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, which saves the note-taker the first pass.

Why library recordings go unread

A recording in a site library is only searchable by its file name.

✗ Filed in SharePoint

The MP4 sits beside the slide deck, and people who missed the meeting skip it.

  • Two and a half hours to watch
  • File names that say only the date
  • Download blocked by default on some sites
  • No quote you can point to by time
  • Follow-ups forgotten by the next week
  • Absent staff asking for a recap

✓ Turned into minutes

One download and one upload give the team text with timestamps.

  • A 150-minute town hall in about 5 minutes
  • Opening 20 minutes free
  • Chapters that follow the town hall agenda
  • Each presenter named in the brief
  • DOCX to save back to the library
  • Chat that answers 'what was decided?'

FAQ

SharePoint recordings, explained.

How long does a 2.5-hour SharePoint recording take?

About 5 minutes after the MP4 finishes uploading, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A one-hour channel meeting takes about 2 minutes. Close the tab if you like; your Library keeps the result.

What does a year of recorded meetings cost?

A monthly two-hour steering meeting is 12 times 120, or 1,440 minutes a year, which fits the $12 pack of 2,000. One 150-minute town hall fits the $6 pack of 500. The minutes never expire, so one pack can last the year.

How big can the MP4 be?

Each MP4 can be as long as 10 hours or as large as 5 GB. Before the first pack the upload ceiling is 2 GB, and a larger MP4 starts once a pack is on the account. If a video is over 5 GB, saving the audio as an MP3 shrinks it a great deal.

Do long recordings need cutting into parts?

Not up to 10 hours. A full-day training saved as one MP4 goes up as one file. Anything longer is split into two at a break.

Do you integrate with SharePoint or Teams?

No. There is no app, connector or bot in SharePoint or Teams; we work on the recording after you download it. That also means nothing in your tenant needs approval from IT to try it.

What happens to the recording after upload?

It is transcribed on our own servers and is never used for training; your account alone can open it, and you can delete it whenever you like. The text exports to TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
