Transcribe a long Insta360 X4 recording every word from the middle of the room.
Six hours of an event filmed on an Insta360 X4 come back as text in about 12 minutes once the footage, or just its audio, is exported and uploaded, up to 10 hours or 5 GB a file. You get the first 20 minutes free, and the whole 360 minutes sit inside the $6 pack of 500 minutes with 140 to spare.
A camera that hears the whole room
A 360 camera in the middle of the table records everyone. The transcript lets you read them all.
From the card to a normal file
The X4 usually saves its own 360 file format to the microSD card, which most players and uploaders do not read as it is. Export it first through Insta360's desktop software or phone app, as a flat MP4 or as audio only; the exact menu depends on the version you have.
Export the sound, skip the pixels
360 video at high resolution is very heavy, easily tens of gigabytes over an afternoon. The words only need the sound: an audio export at 128 kbps is about 58 MB an hour, so six hours is roughly 350 MB, which fits even the 500 MB box on this page. Larger exports go through the main upload page.
Long events, several takes
Battery, heat or card space can end a take early on a long day, so an event may come off the card as several recordings. Upload each one, or line them up in an editor and export one audio file up to 10 hours for a single timeline.
What the event turns into
A brief with the main points, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates spoken, and the questions the session answered. Speakers are named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, and the text exports as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT or JSON.
360 footage, usually
A 360 camera captured the whole workshop. Then the files were too big to do anything with.

FAQ
Insta360 X4 recordings: the questions
How long does six hours of X4 footage take?
About 12 minutes once the file is uploaded. Exporting the audio first also makes the upload quick.
What does a long event cost?
The first 20 minutes are free on a first visit, and a longer file is previewed before you pay. Six hours, 360 minutes, fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes. Three events of the same length, 1,080 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes with 920 left. Packs are one-time purchases, and unused credits stay on the account for the next event.
Can I upload the camera's own file?
Export it first. The camera's native 360 file is usually only readable by Insta360's software, so save a flat MP4 or an audio file and upload that.
The export is over 2 GB.
Files up to 2 GB upload before a first pack; with a pack on the account, up to 5 GB. An audio-only export almost always lands well under both.
Does WhipScribe link to the Insta360 app?
No. There is no integration or plugin; you export the file and upload it, or paste a YouTube, Vimeo or Google Drive link if it is already posted there.
Is the recording kept private?
Every file is transcribed on our own servers and never used for training. The spoken language, any of 99, is picked up automatically.
