Transcribe LINE call recordings recorded on the side, read in full.
LINE does not record calls itself, so capture the call with a separate recorder and upload that file here; a 90-minute call comes back as text in about 3 minutes. The first 20 minutes are free, and four 90-minute weekly calls (360 minutes) fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes.
Recording a LINE call
The call happens in LINE. The recording happens somewhere else.
Ways people record it
On a computer, take the call in LINE for desktop and record system audio and the microphone with a screen recorder or audio app. On a phone, a screen recording with microphone audio may work, depending on the device; a second device recording the speakerphone is the fallback. Test a two-minute call first, so you know both voices are on the file. Recording only your microphone captures half the conversation, and the transcript can only read what the file holds.
Consent first
Recording a call needs the consent that the law where you and the other person are requires. Say at the start that you are recording, and keep that moment in the file.
Calls across a quarter
A 90-minute weekly call adds up to 360 minutes a month on the $6 pack of 500. Thirteen of them over a quarter, 1,170 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000, and credits never expire, so a cancelled week costs nothing.
Big screen recordings
A screen recording of a long video call can grow past the 500 MB this box takes. Upload it on upload page, which accepts one file up to 10 hours or 5 GB, or export just the audio, which is far smaller and reads the same.
Calls without a record
Long calls settle things. Without a transcript, nobody agrees later on what.
✗ Memory and notes
Ninety minutes, half a page of notes.
- Points agreed and later forgotten
- Typing while trying to listen
- OpenAI's Whisper API caps a file at 25 MB
- Screen recordings too big to send
- A second listen for every detail
- Mixed Japanese and English hard to note
✓ Recorded and transcribed
The call as a document both sides can check.
- 90 minutes back in about 3
- A month of weekly calls on the $6 pack
- Dates and amounts in the brief
- The questions the call settled
- Chat to find who agreed to what
- DOCX to send as a summary

FAQ
LINE call recordings, the common questions.
Can WhipScribe join or record my LINE call?
No. There is no bot and no integration with LINE; nothing joins a live call. You record the call yourself and upload the file afterwards.
Does it handle Japanese and English in one call?
Yes. 99 languages are detected automatically, English terms inside Japanese speech are handled, and a call that switches language is detected on its main language.
How long does a call take to transcribe?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio: 90 minutes in about 3, a 3-hour call in about 6.
How big can the recording be?
Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. Before the first pack, uploads go up to 2 GB; a long screen recording over that starts once a pack is on the account.
Are the speakers kept apart?
The people on the call are named in the summary, the key quotes and the chapters. The transcript is timestamped text without a name on each line. When both people speak clearly into their own microphones, the summary keeps their points apart well.
What comes out, and is the call private?
The transcript downloads as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and deleting a recording deletes its transcript.
