Transcribe a Mediasite lecture recording lectures, symposia and grand rounds.
A Mediasite presentation downloaded as a file is transcribed in about 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 60-minute grand rounds takes about 2 minutes and a 4-hour symposium about 8. Download it where the presenter or administrator allows, upload it here, and the first 20 minutes are free; 240 minutes of symposium fits inside the $6 pack of 500. WhipScribe has no Mediasite connector: it transcribes recordings after they are made, for teaching and education.
Universities and teaching hospitals
Mediasite records lectures and grand rounds. The transcript makes them reusable for teaching.
Downloading a presentation
Mediasite presentations can be offered for download when the presenter or the administrator enables it, and the file is usually an MP4 or an audio file; check the presentation's download options to see which. If the presentation is view-only, ask its owner for the file rather than recording the screen. A presentation recorded with slides and a camera is still one recording of speech, and only that speech is transcribed.
Grand rounds, for teaching only
Grand rounds and continuing-education sessions transcribe well because presenters use a microphone. Treat the transcript as a training and study resource; WhipScribe is not a medical device.
Pricing a year of sessions
Weekly 60-minute grand rounds across forty weeks is 2,400 minutes, which goes on the $24 pack of 5,000. A single four-hour symposium uses 240 minutes of the $6 pack, leaving 260 minutes for the next one.
Every talk, chaptered
A long Mediasite session often holds several presenters. Upload on upload page and each talk becomes its own chapter, with presenters and discussants named in the summary, quotes and chapters, and the terms, figures and dates said listed for review. A chair's introductions and the closing remarks land in their own chapters as well, so the timetable of the day can be rebuilt from the transcript alone.
Where long presentations get stuck
A four-hour symposium in a player is hard to cite from and harder to revise from.

FAQ
Mediasite recordings, answered.
How quickly does a four-hour Mediasite session come back?
In about 8 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per hour of audio. A one-hour grand rounds is ready in about 2. The transcript waits in your Library, so a session uploaded on Monday can be reviewed at the end of the week.
What do forty weeks of grand rounds cost?
Forty one-hour sessions are 2,400 minutes, which needs the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes. A four-hour symposium on its own uses 240 minutes of the $6 pack. On a first visit, the first 20 minutes are free and a pack carries on from where the preview stopped.
What is a grand rounds transcript for?
Training, teaching and continuing education: a searchable record of what was presented, for residents and staff to study from afterwards.
How large a Mediasite presentation can I upload?
Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per presentation, whichever is reached first. Before a pack, uploads are capped at 2 GB, and a larger presentation starts once a pack is on the account. A teaching day that runs past 10 hours is uploaded as two presentations, one per half.
Are presentations in other languages supported?
Yes, 99 languages are detected automatically, including Hebrew, Swedish, Japanese and Portuguese. A session that switches languages is detected on its main one, and the switches are handled. Presenters who use English technical terms inside another language are transcribed as they say them.
Exports and privacy?
Presentations download as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON; education teams often post the DOCX next to the slides. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
