Which app made the file
Nothing phones ship with a recorder app, and some owners use a different one from the Play Store. Whichever recorded it, open the recording, use its share or export option, and send the file to Drive, to a laptop, or to the phone's own storage. The file type depends on the app and its settings, so look at the extension before you convert anything.

How quickly does a 4-hour recording finish?
In about 8 minutes, at roughly 2 minutes per audio hour. The public proof page shows 9.31 hours finished in 1,033 seconds.
My file has an unusual extension. Will it upload?
Most phone audio uploads as it is. If one is refused, convert it to MP3 or M4A with any audio converter and upload the copy; the transcript reads the speech, not the container.
Is there a cap on length?
One file up to 10 hours or 5 GB. Uploads before a first pack go up to 2 GB, far more than a compressed phone recording uses. A recording past 10 hours is uploaded as two files.
How is the first visit charged?
The first 20 minutes are free. A short recording that fits in them transcribes in full; a longer one is previewed, and a pack from $6 carries on from where the preview ended.
Do I need to install anything on the phone?
No. WhipScribe has no app integration and no bot on your phone; you upload a file in the browser and read the result there.
Which formats come out, and is the recording private?
Exports come as TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete any of them with its transcript.
