Transcribe TECNO Voice Recorder files and keep the stories in writing.
A 90-minute recording from a TECNO phone, such as a grandparent telling the family's story, comes back as text in about 3 minutes, with the names, places and years mentioned listed by timestamp. The first 20 minutes are free, and the $6 pack of 500 minutes covers five 90-minute sessions with 50 minutes to spare.
For families, fellowships and community groups
A voice on a phone is easy to lose. A transcript can be printed, shared and read by the next generation.
Names, places and years in a list
Every relative, town and year mentioned is listed with its timestamp, the start of a family tree or a timeline for a reunion.
Chapters along the story
Childhood in the province, the move to Manila, work abroad: chapters follow the turns of a long conversation so each part can be read alone.
A brief for the family group chat
The thesis of the session and its takeaways make a short message for relatives who live far away. The storyteller is named in the summary, quotes and chapters.
Many sessions, one place
Record over several visits, then send the files through the upload page, or paste a Google Drive folder that holds them all.
What a phone recording loses
Recordings of elders sit in a phone until the phone is replaced, and then they are gone.
✗ Leaving it on the phone
Long talks are recorded with good intentions and then never played again.
- Stories lost when the phone is replaced
- Long talks no one finds time to replay
- Names and dates forgotten by the family
- Nothing to print for the reunion
- Ilocano or Bisaya stories left untouched
- Relatives abroad who never hear them
✓ The same stories here
Each recording becomes text the family can read, search and print.
- Chapters along the story's turns
- Names, places and years with timestamps
- Quotes worth keeping, with times
- Tagalog and English kept in one transcript
- A printable DOCX for the family
- Five 90-minute sessions on the $6 pack

FAQ
TECNO Voice Recorder files, answered.
How do I get the recording off my TECNO phone?
In the recorder app, choose the recording and share it to your browser, email or Google Drive, or find it with the file manager. The folder and format vary by model and software version, so the share option is the safest route; the app's settings show the format.
How long does it take, and what do several sessions cost?
About 2 minutes per hour of audio, so a 90-minute session takes roughly 3 minutes. Five sessions of 90 minutes come to 450 minutes and fit the $6 pack of 500 minutes. A family project of twenty such sessions, 1,800 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes.
Is there a limit on how long one recording can be?
One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB, whichever comes first, so a 12-hour recording goes in as two files. Voice recordings are small: at 128 kbps an hour is 128 × 3,600 = 460,800 kilobits, about 58 MB. The 2 GB ceiling for uploads lasts only until your first pack. Should the upload refuse an older phone's file, convert it to MP3 first.
My lola speaks Ilocano. Will that work?
Ilocano is supported, as are Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Waray, Bikol and Kapampangan, but those come back as a fast first draft, so plan one review pass with someone in the family who speaks it. Tagalog and Filipino are detected automatically, and English comes back cleanly.
What about recording a youth fellowship or bible study?
The same steps work. The talk and discussion are transcribed; worship songs are music, so they are not. For a family project, record in a quiet room, keep the phone between you and the storyteller, and say the date and place at the start so the transcript carries them. Ask the elder before recording and let them hear or read the result.
Which files can we download, and are the recordings kept private?
The family can download TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON. Family recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, and you can delete a recording, with its text, at any time.
