Can I just paste the Vimeo link?
Yes, for a video the link can reach. A private or restricted video may need downloading first; upload the file and the result is the same. WhipScribe is not part of Vimeo Record and is not connected to your Vimeo account.
How long does a 2-hour walkthrough take?
Roughly 4 minutes, given about 2 minutes per hour of narration. A 30-minute recording is done in about one.
What does a walkthrough cost?
The first 20 minutes are free for a first-time visitor. One 2-hour walkthrough is 120 minutes on the $6 pack of 500 minutes, and thirty 45-minute walkthroughs, 1,350 minutes, fit the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes. Packs are paid once and never expire.
Is there a size limit on a downloaded video?
Up to 2 GB before a pack, then up to 5 GB or 10 hours per file. Screen recordings with long still stretches are often smaller than camera footage of the same length.
Will it read the text on screen?
No. Only speech is transcribed, so a silent stretch of clicking produces no text; narrate the steps you want in the transcript. A sentence such as "now I open the billing tab" becomes a line you can search for later.
Which exports come back, and is the video kept private?
TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, from any of 99 spoken languages. Walkthroughs are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
