Getting the call out of Zoho Voice

A business line records every call. Turning one into notes should not take an afternoon.

Find the recording

When call recording is on for a number or user, recorded calls show up in Zoho Voice's call logs with a play control. A download option is usually beside it, depending on your role; the file is typically an MP3, but check what your account saves. An admin can confirm whether recording is enabled.

Upload or share a folder

Upload the call in the box above; phone audio is small enough that the 500 MB box and the 2 GB pre-pack limit are rarely in play. For a batch, drop the downloads into a Google Drive folder and paste its share link, and each call becomes its own transcript.

Weekly and monthly sums

Twenty-five calls of 18 minutes in a week are 450 minutes, inside the $6 pack of 500. Four weeks at that rate are 1,800 minutes, which suits the $12 pack of 2,000. A 2-hour call on its own is 120 minutes: 20 free, the rest from the $6 pack.

What the notes look like

A brief with the call's purpose and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the figures and dates spoken, and the questions the call settled. Paste the brief into a ticket or a client file; ask the chat when the delivery date was agreed. Nothing has to be retyped, because every line carries a timestamp you can click to hear the original.

The trouble with a call log

Recorded calls pile up by number and time. The content stays locked.

✗ Playback only

To learn what was said, someone sits through the call again.

  • Calls identified by phone number
  • No search inside a recording
  • Agreements remembered differently
  • Two hours replayed for one amount
  • Follow-up emails written from memory
  • A colleague covering with no context

✓ Text from every call you upload

A few minutes later, searchable and shareable.

  • About 4 minutes for a 2-hour call
  • The people on the call named in the brief
  • Amounts and deadlines listed
  • Timestamps that point back to the audio
  • A chat over the full call
  • DOCX for the client file

FAQ

Zoho Voice recordings, answered.

How long does a Zoho Voice recording take?

About 2 minutes for each hour of audio, so a 2-hour call takes about 4 minutes and a 15-minute call well under a minute. Finding and downloading the file from the call log usually takes longer than the transcript itself.

Is there a Zoho Voice integration?

No. WhipScribe is not connected to Zoho Voice or any Zoho app, and no bot joins your calls. You work with the downloaded recording.

What will a month of calls cost?

At 1,800 minutes a month, the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes fits. A lighter month of 450 minutes fits the $6 pack of 500. Prices are in US dollars and credits never expire.

Do I need permission to record?

Recording calls requires the consent that local law asks for, so check that before you switch it on. Many teams announce recording at the start of the call; keep doing that.

What if a call is in Hindi, Spanish or French?

The language is detected automatically from 99 supported languages, with English terms inside the speech kept. A call that changes language part-way is transcribed on its main language.

Who can see the transcripts?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. Your transcripts sit in your account, and you can delete a call and its text when you no longer need them.
