Transcribe a Ukrainian church service and keep the homily long after Sunday.
A 100-minute Ukrainian Divine Liturgy recorded in a US parish comes back as Cyrillic text in about 3 minutes, with Ukrainian detected automatically and English announcements handled in the same pass. After the first 20 minutes free, five such Sundays, 500 minutes, fill the $6 pack of 500 minutes exactly.
For the parish media volunteer
The homily is preached once, in Ukrainian. The transcript lets grandchildren read it in the bulletin and newcomers search it months later.
The homily, as a brief
The brief gives the homily's main point and its takeaways, so the bulletin editor starts from a paragraph instead of a blank page.
Feasts, dates and names pulled out
Feast days, memorial services, dates and names said during the announcements are listed with timestamps, ready for the parish calendar.
Captions for the YouTube replay
SRT and VTT files carry the spoken parts of the Liturgy with their timing, so a parishioner watching at home on a phone can follow the homily with the sound off.
Years of recordings, folder by folder
Paste a Google Drive folder of past Liturgies, or send a long service video through the upload page.
Where the homily goes
Most Sunday homilies live inside a two-hour video that nobody scrubs through twice.
✗ Without a transcript
The livestream is archived, the priest's notes stay in a drawer, and the bulletin repeats last year's text.
- No written homily for the parish website
- A volunteer retyping from the video on Monday night
- Cyrillic notes nobody can search later
- Replays with no captions for the hard of hearing
- Announcement dates buried at minute 95
- Phone videos too big to email
✓ With WhipScribe
Upload after coffee hour and the text is waiting before the hall is swept.
- The homily in Ukrainian, in Cyrillic
- Chapters from the opening blessing to the dismissal
- Feasts, dates and names listed
- The priest and any guest speaker named in the summary
- SRT and VTT for the replay
- Five 100-minute Sundays on the $6 pack
Sample output
A homily in Ukrainian, with a word for English-speaking guests.
Illustrative lines written for this page; they quote no real parish or priest. In English: 'Glory to Jesus Christ! Dear brothers and sisters, today's Gospel speaks to us about mercy'; 'Mercy begins at home, in our own family'; 'Next Sunday there will be a parish lunch after the Liturgy'; 'A reminder that Ukrainian school starts on Saturday at ten in the morning'; then a line in English for guests.

FAQ
Ukrainian church services, answered.
How quickly does a Ukrainian Liturgy come back?
At about 2 minutes of processing per hour of audio, a 100-minute Liturgy takes roughly 3 minutes, and a 20-minute homily cut on its own takes well under one. The long night service at Easter, if it runs three and a half hours, takes about 7.
What does a season of services cost?
A 100-minute Liturgy uses 100 minutes. Five Sundays fill the $6 pack of 500 minutes; a quarter of thirteen Sundays, 1,300 minutes, fits the $12 pack of 2,000 minutes; fifty Sundays, 5,000 minutes, use the $24 pack of 5,000 minutes to the last minute. Uploading only the homily, about 20 minutes a week, puts a year of 52 homilies, 1,040 minutes, on the $12 pack. Packs are paid once in US dollars and the credits never expire.
Will the text be in Cyrillic, and what about the English parts?
Ukrainian speech comes back in Cyrillic, as in the sample above, and nobody picks a language: Ukrainian is one of 99 detected automatically. A recording that moves between Ukrainian and English is detected on its main language, and the English remarks for guests or for the youth come through in the same transcript.
What happens to the choir and the sung responses?
Sung and chanted parts are treated as music, and music is not transcribed; the speech is. The homily, any reading that is spoken rather than chanted, spoken prayers and the announcements come through, and the long sung stretches simply leave gaps in the text.
Our livestream file is large. Will it upload?
A 1080p stream at 4 Mbps is about 1.8 GB per hour, so a 100-minute Liturgy is around 3 GB. One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, and uploads before a first pack go up to 2 GB, so this one starts once a pack is on the account. If the Liturgy is already on YouTube, paste the link, live replays included, and nothing is uploaded. An audio-only MP3 of the same service is under 100 MB.
Who sees the recording, and which files come back?
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training, so the names of the sick read out for prayer stay with the parish. Exports are TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON, and a chat over the transcript finds the Sunday a particular feast or fundraiser was announced.
