Crowdcast · HD MP4 or audio-only export

Transcribe a Crowdcast event recording.

Crowdcast keeps a replay of every event and lets the host download it, as an HD MP4 or as audio only. Download it while you still can, drop it here, and get the talk back as searchable text with chapters and captions.

Free preview and summary Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file 99+ languages TXT · DOCX · SRT · VTT · JSON

The file you have

What Crowdcast lets the host take away.

Format
An HD MP4 of the event, or an audio-only export for a smaller file.
Where to find it
My events → the past event → Options (top right) → Download HD Video.
How long
Downloads are offered for six months after the event, on an active paid plan. For older events Crowdcast asks the host to email support from the account address.
Who can download
Only the host. Attendees can watch the replay on the event page but cannot download it.

There is no link to paste for this one. A crowdcast.io event link opens Crowdcast's player and cannot be fetched by another service. As the host, download the video or audio and upload the file.

How it works

Three steps, the first one is the only one that takes any thought.

1

Open the past event

In Crowdcast go to My events and select the event.

2

Download, then drop it

Options → Download HD Video, or the audio-only export, then drop the file in the box above.

3

Read, then export

The summary and a preview are free. A pack opens the full transcript with TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON exports.

Good to know

What trips people up, and what to do about it.

Example. A one-hour author talk with a 20-minute audience Q&A, downloaded from Crowdcast as audio only, is a small file that uploads in moments. The transcript comes back with chapters for the reading and each question, and the quotes worth putting in the newsletter, each with its time.

What comes back

More than a wall of text.

The same four things for every Crowdcast recording, whatever its length.

A transcript with timestamps

Every line carries its time. Click a line to hear that second again, or search a name or phrase and jump to each place it was said.

A summary, chapters and key quotes

A brief with the takeaways, chapters with their start times, and the quotes worth keeping. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.

Questions answered from the recording

Ask where a topic came up or what was decided, and get the answer with the time it was said, instead of scrolling the whole text.

Every export

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON from the same transcript: a document to edit, caption files for video, plain text to paste, structured data for your own tools.

Pricing

Free preview. Packs from $6, and the minutes never expire.

A talk with Q&A is 80 minutes, so the $6 pack (500 minutes) covers it 6 times over. Every recording gets a free preview and a summary you can read before paying; a pack opens the full transcript and every export. Packs are one-time purchases with no subscription and no seat fee.

What we measured, last 30 days

2,547 recordings, 1,244 audio hours, 66 languages detected. An hour of audio came back in 3.5 minutes for half of the recordings and within 18.0 minutes for nine in ten, measured from the moment the file landed to the finished transcript. Refreshed 2026-10-07; method on how we test.

FAQ

Crowdcast to text, answered.

How do I download a Crowdcast recording?

As the host, go to My events, choose the past event, open Options at the top right and pick Download HD Video, or the audio-only export. Then drop the file here.

Can I paste the Crowdcast event link?

No. The event page plays in Crowdcast's own player, which another service cannot fetch. Download the recording as the host and upload it.

How long can I download Crowdcast recordings?

Crowdcast offers the download for six months after the event while you are on an active paid plan. For older events, email Crowdcast support from your account address.

Can an attendee transcribe a Crowdcast event?

Not from Crowdcast: only the host can download the recording. Ask the host for the file or for a transcript.

What does transcribing Crowdcast recordings cost?

The preview and the summary are free. A pack opens the full transcript: $6 for 500 minutes, $8 for 1,000 minutes, $12 for 2,000 minutes, $24 for 5,000 minutes. Packs are one-time, credits never expire, and Workspace is $19 a month if you transcribe every week.

How long can the recording be?

One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The box on this page takes files up to 500 MB; a larger file continues on the main upload page, which uploads it in parts. Most recordings come back in about two minutes per hour of audio.

Is the recording kept private?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete a recording and its transcript at any time.
