No. It opens a web page, not the media file. Export and download the MP4 from Kapwing and upload it.

How do I put the captions back into Kapwing?

Export SRT from the transcript, open Subtitles in the Kapwing editor and choose Upload SRT/VTT.

Is there a size limit?

One file can be up to 10 hours or 5 GB, far more than a typical Kapwing export.

Is the recording kept private?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete a recording and its transcript at any time.
