What trips people up, and what to do about it.

Live SiriusXM channels are not podcasts. A radio broadcast has no episode file; only shows published as podcasts can be transcribed.
Early access is a timing gap. An episode heard early with SiriusXM Podcasts+ can be transcribed once the public version is out; until then there is nothing to fetch.
The public version has ads where the subscriber copy did not, so the transcript includes them. Chapters make them easy to skip.
Long interview shows are routine. One recording can run up to 10 hours, and a three-hour episode needs no splitting.

Example. A producer wants a quote from a 95-minute interview they heard in the SiriusXM app. They copy the public episode's Apple Podcasts link, paste it here, and about three minutes later search the transcript for the line and copy it with its timestamp.

Can I transcribe a podcast from the SiriusXM app?

Not from the app itself: its streams and downloads are protected. Use the public release of the same episode, from Apple Podcasts or the show's RSS feed.

I heard an episode early on SiriusXM Podcasts+. Can I transcribe it now?

Only once the public version is released. Early and ad-free subscriber episodes are not in the public feed.

Can I transcribe a live SiriusXM channel?

No. Live radio channels are protected streams, not podcast episodes.

Is the recording kept private?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete a recording and its transcript at any time.
