Enter how long your recording is and what it is. See whether it uploads as is, how long transcription takes and which pack covers it. You do not need to compress or split it first.
WhipScribe takes one file up to 10 hours long or 5 GB in size, whichever comes first. Inside those limits the original goes in as it is: no splitting, no compression, no re-encoding on your side. A file over 2 GB uploads the same way, up to 5 GB, and transcription starts with a free preview of the opening minutes. A recording over 10 hours goes in as two files. A file over 5 GB goes in as a link, or you export just the audio track, which is a small fraction of the video's size.
A link needs no upload at all. Paste a YouTube, Vimeo, Twitch or Kick VOD, Google Drive, or podcast and RSS link and the recording is fetched on our side. There is more on both routes on the pages for transcribing large files and transcription for long recordings.
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training.
Measured on production, 30 days to 2026-10-16. Longer recordings take less time per audio hour because the work runs in parallel.
