Transcribe a SermonAudio sermon to text.

Every sermon on SermonAudio is a public MP3, and every broadcaster has a podcast feed. Paste the MP3 link, or the feed for the newest sermon, and the audio is fetched for you; the transcript comes back with chapters, scripture references as spoken, and caption files.

The file you have

How SermonAudio publishes a sermon.

Format
MP3, served from cloud.sermonaudio.com without sign-in, with a lower-bitrate copy for slow connections.
Broadcaster feed
feed.sermonaudio.com/broadcasters/<your-id> lists the newest sermons with their MP3s; add ?video=true for the video feed.
Downloads
The sermon page's download gives the MP3, named with the title, speaker, date preached and sermon ID.
Which links work here
The MP3 link, the broadcaster feed (newest sermon), and a sermon page on a church's SermonAudio Solo site (sermonaudio.com/solo/…). Checked 11 October 2026.

Sometimes a link works. Paste the sermon's MP3 link (copy the link of the sermon's MP3 download), or your broadcaster feed to transcribe the newest sermon. The main sermon page address, sermonaudio.com/sermons/<id>, is not read yet: use its MP3 link instead.

How it works

Three steps, the first one is the only one that takes any thought.

1

Copy the MP3 link

On the sermon page, copy the link of the MP3 download. Or copy your broadcaster feed address for the newest sermon.

2

Paste it, or upload the file

Paste the link in the box above; the audio is fetched for you. A downloaded MP3 uploads just as well.

3

Read, then export

The summary and a preview are free. A pack opens the full transcript with TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT and JSON exports.

Good to know

What trips people up, and what to do about it.

Example. A 45-minute expository sermon on SermonAudio is published as an MP3. Pasting its MP3 link, the audio is fetched and the transcript comes back with chapters for each point, the passages read with their times, and a summary short enough for the church bulletin.

What comes back

More than a wall of text.

The same four things for every SermonAudio recording, whatever its length.

A transcript with timestamps

Every line carries its time. Click a line to hear that second again, or search a name or phrase and jump to each place it was said.

A summary, chapters and key quotes

A brief with the takeaways, chapters with their start times, and the quotes worth keeping. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters.

Questions answered from the recording

Ask where a topic came up or what was decided, and get the answer with the time it was said, instead of scrolling the whole text.

Every export

TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON from the same transcript: a document to edit, caption files for video, plain text to paste, structured data for your own tools.

Pricing

Free preview. Packs from $6, and the minutes never expire.

A 45-minute sermon is 45 minutes, so the $6 pack (500 minutes) covers it 11 times over. Every recording gets a free preview and a summary you can read before paying; a pack opens the full transcript and every export. Packs are one-time purchases with no subscription and no seat fee.

Pick a pack to open secure checkout. Workspace is $19 a month for unlimited transcription (300-hour fair-use mark). Full pricing

What we measured, last 30 days

2,547 recordings, 1,244 audio hours, 66 languages detected. An hour of audio came back in 3.5 minutes for half of the recordings and within 18.0 minutes for nine in ten, measured from the moment the file landed to the finished transcript. Refreshed 2026-10-07; method on how we test.

FAQ

SermonAudio to text, answered.

How do I transcribe a sermon from SermonAudio?

Copy the link of the sermon's MP3 download and paste it in the box on this page, or download the MP3 and upload it. The transcript comes back with timestamps, chapters and a summary.

Can I paste our SermonAudio broadcaster feed?

Yes. The feed at feed.sermonaudio.com/broadcasters/your-id is read and its newest sermon is transcribed. For older sermons, paste each sermon's MP3 link.

Why does the sermon page link not work?

The main sermon page at sermonaudio.com/sermons/id is not read by our link fetcher yet. Its MP3 link works, and so does the page on a church's SermonAudio Solo site.

Can I transcribe a whole sermon series?

Yes, one sermon at a time: paste each MP3 link or upload each file. Every sermon becomes its own transcript, and the library searches across all of them.

What does transcribing SermonAudio recordings cost?

The preview and the summary are free. A pack opens the full transcript: $6 for 500 minutes, $8 for 1,000 minutes, $12 for 2,000 minutes, $24 for 5,000 minutes. Packs are one-time, credits never expire, and Workspace is $19 a month if you transcribe every week.

How long can the recording be?

One file can run up to 10 hours or 5 GB. The box on this page takes files up to 500 MB; a larger file continues on the main upload page, which uploads it in parts. Most recordings come back in about two minutes per hour of audio.

Is the recording kept private?

Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and are never used for training. You can delete a recording and its transcript at any time.
