Quick answers
The five questions people ask before the first upload.
- What does WhipScribe do for Google Drive podcast recordings?
- Your episode masters already sit in Drive, one folder per season.
- How much does it cost?
- The summary of any recording is free to read; a pack from $6 (500 minutes) opens the full transcript. Credit packs: $6 = 500 min · $8 = 1,000 min · $12 = 2,000 min · $24 = 5,000 min; credits never expire and there is no seat fee. Workspace is $19 a month for unlimited transcription (300-hour fair-use mark; 100 GB of storage included, then $3 per extra 100 GB a month).
- How long does a transcript take?
- A one-hour recording is usually ready in about two minutes; most files finish in under a minute. Files up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file.
- Is it private?
- Yes. Transcribed on our own servers; audio is never sent to a third-party AI service. Never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model. Delete a recording and its transcript at any time; account deletion removes every record tied to the email.
- Which languages and files does it accept?
- 99+ languages, detected automatically; the transcript stays in the recording's language. Input: any audio or video file (MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, WEBM, MOV, GSM and more), a YouTube, podcast, RSS, Google Drive, Twitch or Kick link, or a microphone recording. Export: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON.

What matters when transcribing Google Drive podcast recordings?
The show folder, every season inside
In the Library choose Add content → Google Drive, tick the show folder, and leave Include subfolders on. Season 1 to Season 6 come back as matching Library subfolders, each episode under its own file name. Cover art, scripts and sponsor PDFs in the same folders are left alone; only audio and video are imported.
Masters at full length
Episode masters run one to three hours and go in whole, WAV or MP3, up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. A very long uncompressed WAV can pass 5 GB; export that episode as MP3 first. The review step shows the total size before anything starts, and the length is worked out after import.
Show notes from the overview
Each episode opens on an overview: chapters with times you can paste into show notes, the key quotes with their timestamps, and the names, books and numbers mentioned. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so guest attributions are there to check.
The season back in Drive, TXT and SRT
From the Library folder's ⋯ menu, Export to Google Drive… creates a new Drive folder with a TXT and an SRT for every finished episode, ready for your editor, your website or video uploads of the episode. The masters in Drive are not moved or changed.
How it works
How do I transcribe a Google Drive podcast recording?
Connect Google Drive
In the Library, Add content → Google Drive. Google asks you to allow read-only access to your Drive.
Pick files or folders
Tick single files or whole folders, subfolders included. Run it again later and the files already done are skipped.
Read, then send it back
Each file gets a transcript and the Intelligence brief. Save to Drive writes TXT and SRT into a new Drive folder.

What comes back from a Google Drive podcast recording?
Season 3, episode 12 — pricing a first product with a bootstrapped founder
Brief overview
The guest argues for charging from the first week and raising prices twice in the first year, using customer interviews instead of competitor pages to set the number.
- The guest charged from week one and calls free pilots 'research with no answer', at 18:20.
- Prices rose twice in the first year without losing a customer, the story told at 42:05.
- The episode closes on three interview questions for setting a price, listed at 1:21:30.
Questions this recording answers
- Should a first product be free to start?
- The guest says no: charge from week one, because free pilots do not tell you what people will pay.
- How did the price rises land?
- Two rises in the first year, with no customers lost, as told at 42:05.
Chapters
- Intro and the guest's first product
- Charging from week one
- Two price rises in a year
- Three questions to set a price

Questions
What else do people ask about Google Drive podcast transcription?
How many episodes can I import at once?
One import takes up to 500 audio or video files, which covers most back catalogues. For a larger archive, run the import again and it picks up the rest, because episodes already done are skipped.
Can I paste a Drive folder link instead of connecting?
No. Only a link to a single file shared as "Anyone with the link" can be pasted. A whole folder needs the signed-in import, Library → Add content → Google Drive, which also works without making anything public.
Does the SRT for each episode go to Drive automatically?
When the import finishes, WhipScribe can offer to send the transcripts back to Drive; you can also use Export to Google Drive… from the folder's ⋯ menu at any time. Either way, a new Drive folder is created with a TXT and an SRT per finished episode; VTT, DOCX and JSON are downloads from each episode.
