Quick answers

The five questions people ask before the first upload.

What does WhipScribe do for webinar recordings?
Import the whole webinar folder from Google Drive in one run. Every recording comes back with a brief, timestamped chapters and key quotes to write from, and an SRT for its on-demand page.
How much does it cost?
The summary of any recording is free to read; a pack from $6 (500 minutes) opens the full transcript. Credit packs: $6 = 500 min · $8 = 1,000 min · $12 = 2,000 min · $24 = 5,000 min; credits never expire and there is no seat fee. Workspace is $19 a month for unlimited transcription (300-hour fair-use mark; 100 GB of storage included, then $3 per extra 100 GB a month).
How long does a transcript take?
A one-hour recording is usually ready in about two minutes; most files finish in under a minute. Files up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file.
Is it private?
Yes. Transcribed on our own servers; audio is never sent to a third-party AI service. Never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model. Delete a recording and its transcript at any time; account deletion removes every record tied to the email.
Which languages and files does it accept?
99+ languages, detected automatically; the transcript stays in the recording's language. Input: any audio or video file (MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, FLAC, OGG, WEBM, MOV, GSM and more), a YouTube, podcast, RSS, Google Drive, Twitch or Kick link, or a microphone recording. Export: TXT, DOCX, SRT, VTT, JSON.

What matters when transcribing webinar recordings?

01

One import for the whole library

In the Library choose Add content → Google Drive, connect, and tick the webinar folder (or individual recordings). Subfolders such as one per year or per series come along by default. The review step counts the audio and video files, the folders they sit in and the total size before anything starts, and each webinar becomes its own recording under its own file name.

02

A brief to write from, not an hour to rewatch

Each 45 to 90 minute session comes back with a brief overview and takeaways, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and key quotes. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters, so a guest's line can be quoted in a post and checked against the recording by its timestamp.

03

SRT per webinar for the on-demand page

Download SRT or VTT for each recording and attach it to the replay on your site or video host. A Library folder's ⋯ menu also has Export to Google Drive, which writes a TXT and an SRT for every finished transcript into a new Drive folder the web team can pick up.

04

Notion for the content calendar, Zapier for next month

With API access, a small poller can write each finished transcript to a Notion page (see /integrations/notion) so the content team plans posts from text. A Drive import runs once; to cover webinars added after the backlog, a Zapier Drive trigger can submit each new file to the API (see /integrations/zapier). If a webinar is also on YouTube, paste the YouTube link instead.

How it works

How do I transcribe a webinar recording?

Step 1

Connect Google Drive

In the Library, Add content → Google Drive. Google asks you to allow read-only access to your Drive.

Step 2

Pick files or folders

Tick single files or whole folders, subfolders included. Run it again later and the files already done are skipped.

Step 3

Read, then send it back

Each file gets a transcript and the Intelligence brief. Save to Drive writes TXT and SRT into a new Drive folder.

Webinar replay — moving a team off spreadsheets for quarterly planning

58 m · English · 7,500 words

Brief overview

The host argues that planning breaks down at the hand-off between teams, not in the plan itself, and demos a shared-board approach with a live audience Q&A.

  1. The core claim lands at 06:20: most planning slips trace back to three hand-offs, not to bad estimates.
  2. The guest's customer story from 21:40 gives the most quotable line of the session, on cutting the planning cycle from three weeks to one.
  3. Audience questions from 41:15 cluster on migration from existing spreadsheets, a ready topic for a follow-up post.

Questions this recording answers

What is the main argument of the webinar?
That plans fail at the hand-off between teams; the fix shown is a shared board that both teams update.
What did the audience ask most?
How to move existing spreadsheets across without losing history, answered at 44:30.

Questions

What else do people ask about webinar transcription?

Can I import a whole folder of webinars from Google Drive at once?

Yes. Sign in, open the Library and choose Add content → Google Drive. Tick the folder and its subfolders come along by default. One import takes hundreds of files; for a larger archive, run the same import again and files already done are skipped, so it picks up the rest.

Can the transcripts go back into Drive?

Yes. A Library folder's ⋯ menu has Export to Google Drive, which creates a new Drive folder with a TXT and an SRT for every finished transcript. A single recording's download sheet has Save to Drive (.txt + .srt). DOCX and JSON are downloads from the recording itself.

Will new webinars in the Drive folder be transcribed automatically?

Not by the Drive import: it runs once, and watching a folder for new files is not available yet. Run the import again (finished files are skipped), or build a Zapier, Make or n8n flow that submits each new Drive file to the API.

Turn the replay folder into a content calendar.
