How it works

Albanian subtitles in three steps.

1

Upload the Albanian recording

Drop a file, or paste a public link from YouTube, Google Drive or a podcast feed. Files over 500 MB continue on the upload page, up to 10 hours or 5 GB.

2

Read it through

Read the first Albanian cues against the audio. Correct a line on the transcript and the subtitle file carries the correction.

3

Download SRT or VTT

SRT for YouTube Studio and video editors, VTT for web players. TXT, DOCX and JSON come from the same transcript.

What to expect with Albanian

Honest notes for Albanian recordings.

For a transcript rather than subtitles, see transcribe Albanian, Albanian audio to text and Albanian YouTube video to text. For subtitles from any YouTube link, YouTube to SRT; for any file, the SRT generator.

Captioning Albanian

The ë is the most common letter. Lose it and the file is broken.

Albanian uses the Latin alphabet with two extra letters, ë and ç, and nine digraphs (dh, gj, ll, nj, rr, sh, th, xh, zh) that count as single letters. The ë is the most frequent letter in written Albanian, so an encoding problem that strips it damages almost every line. Keep the file in UTF-8 from download to upload; old subtitle tools that save in a legacy code page are the usual culprit.

Spoken Albanian has two main dialects, Gheg in the north and Kosovo and Tosk in the south. Both transcribe, and the output leans toward standard Albanian, which is Tosk-based. Gheg-specific forms may come back standardised, so review interviews where the exact wording matters.

Albanian also links an adjective or a possessor to its noun with a short article: i, e, të or së, as in libri i ri (the new book) or shtëpia e madhe (the big house). These one-letter words are easy to lose in fast speech, and the phrase reads wrong without them, so check them when you read the cues against the audio.

Delivery

Where a Albanian subtitle file goes.

Before you rely on it

What the subtitle file is, and what it is not.

One cue per spoken phrase

Each cue is a phrase from the transcript with its start and end time. Most run a few seconds. A passage spoken without a pause can come out as one long cue of up to about half a minute, so split those in your editor if your platform wants two short lines at a time.

Timing comes from the audio

Cue times are taken from the recording itself, so the file lines up with the video or audio you uploaded. If you trim the start of the video afterwards, shift the cues by the same amount in your editor.

Fix a line before you download

Open the transcript, correct a misheard name or number on its line, and the SRT and VTT you download carry the correction with the timing unchanged.

A plain file, not a styled video

You get the subtitle file. Fonts, colours, position and captions drawn into the picture are done in your video editor or player, which reads this file.

Limits

Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per recording. The box on this page takes files up to 500 MB; larger ones continue on the upload page. 99+ languages, detected automatically.

Speakers

Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. The cues in the subtitle file carry the words and their timing only.

Pricing

What Albanian subtitles cost

The preview is free. When the full transcript needs a pack, one-time packs are $6 for 500 minutes, $8 for 1,000 minutes, $12 for 2,000 minutes, $24 for 5,000 minutes. Credits never expire, which comes to about $0.29 to $0.72 per hour of audio.

FAQ

Albanian subtitles, answered.

How do I make Albanian subtitles for a video?

Upload the video or paste its link in the box on this page. The Albanian speech is transcribed in Latin script; read it through, correct any line, and download SRT or VTT from the transcript.

Are ë and ç kept in the subtitle file?

Yes. The file is UTF-8; if they turn into odd characters, a tool in your chain re-saved it in a legacy encoding.

Does it handle Gheg as well as Tosk?

Both transcribe. The text leans toward standard (Tosk-based) Albanian, so review Gheg-heavy speech where wording matters.

Can I subtitle a Kosovo interview with Serbian phrases in it?

Yes. The Albanian is transcribed, and mixed-language passages are the ones to check.

How accurate are Albanian subtitles?

We have not published a benchmark figure for Albanian, so we do not quote one. Judge it on your own recording: the free preview (first 20 minutes free) shows the text before you pay.

How long can a Albanian recording be?

Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file. Files over 500 MB continue on the upload page rather than in the box on this page.
