For research teams and labs: assistants record, one person reads it all.
$19 a month covers you and up to 4 team members: their own logins, your own work private. Their work in your Library, or private to each of them. You choose. No seat fee.
$19 a month for up to five people · 300-hour fair-use mark, pooled · ~2 min per hour of audio · 99+ languages · private, never used for training
A study with three research assistants in three cities produces one corpus, and the principal investigator should not have to collect it over email. On Workspace the lead adds the assistants by email; each uploads their interviews and focus groups from their own login, and the lead's Library holds every transcript, marked by who made it, ready to export for NVivo, ATLAS.ti or a spreadsheet. Assistants see only their own work.
Built for research teams
What matters when a research team shares one plan?
One corpus, several collectors
Up to 4 assistants on the lead's plan, each uploading from their own email. The lead's Library shows every recording with a by chip and a Made by filter, so one assistant's interviews can be read on their own or the whole study searched at once.
Ready for coding software
Every transcript exports as DOCX or TXT for NVivo, ATLAS.ti, MAXQDA or a spreadsheet, and as JSON for your own scripts. Every line carries its timestamp, so a coded excerpt can be checked against the audio at the exact second.
Speakers, named where it is safe to
Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters. Transcript lines carry timestamps, not speaker labels: a study that codes every turn by participant adds the labels while coding, or sends those files to a human service.
Private, and on one budget line
Recordings are transcribed on our own servers and never used for training; any recording can be deleted at any time. The plan is $19 a month for the whole team, one line on the grant, with 100 GB of storage included.
How it works
How do I add my team to the plan?
Start Workspace
Subscribe from the Teams page or pricing, $19 a month. The plan is on your account the moment payment clears.
Open your Credits page
Sign in and open Credits. Under your plan is the Team card with your seats: Seats 0 of 4 on a new plan.
Add an email
Type a team member's email in the Team card and press Add. Use the address they sign in with. Up to 4; Remove anyone later from the same card.
They sign in and transcribe
The member signs in at whipscribe.com with that email, uploads or records as usual, and everything they make runs on your plan. It appears in your Library with a by chip, unless you have set members' work to private in the same card.
Step by step, with what the Team card says when an email cannot be added: how to share a Workspace plan with your team.

Questions
What people ask before putting a team on one plan.
Can research assistants upload interviews to the lead's account?
Yes, under their own logins. The lead adds each assistant's email in the Team card on the Credits page; the assistant signs in with that email and every interview they transcribe lands in the lead's Library, marked as theirs.
Can assistants see each other's interviews or the lead's?
No. A member sees only their own transcripts. By default the lead sees every member's work and their own, or the lead can set members' work to private; members never see the lead's recordings or one another's. A shared view, if the study needs one, is the lead's Library and its exports.
What does a five-person study team pay?
$19 a month on the lead's card, with a fair-use mark of 300 hours of audio per billing period pooled across the team. Nothing is charged to an assistant. A short study can run on credit packs on one account instead: $4 for 300 minutes, $18 for 3,000 minutes and $32 for 6,000, never expiring.
Does it transcribe focus groups with several speakers?
Yes. Speakers are identified and named in the summary, key quotes and chapters; transcript lines carry timestamps rather than per-line speaker labels. For a verbatim transcript labelled turn by turn, or an ethics protocol that requires one, pay a human service for those files.
Which languages can field recordings be in?
99+ languages, detected automatically per recording, so a study run in two languages needs no sorting first. A finished transcript can be translated for a central team, with its timestamps kept.
