Teams · Study groups

A study group on one plan: whoever is in the room records it.

$19 a month covers you and up to 4 team members: their own logins, your own work private. Their work in your Library, or private to each of them. You choose. No seat fee.

$19 a month for up to five people · 300-hour fair-use mark, pooled · ~2 min per hour of audio · 99+ languages · private, never used for training

Five people on one course do not need five transcription subscriptions, and they should not need one shared password either. On Workspace the student who pays adds four classmates by email. Whoever makes it to the lecture records and uploads from their own login; the plan owner has every recording the group made transcribed in one Library, searchable before the exam, and nobody's own credits are touched.

Built for study groups

What matters when a study group shares one plan?

01

Split one plan, not one login

The plan is $19 a month whether one person or five use it. Each member signs in with their own email and keeps their own Library of what they recorded; the owner can see all of it and search across every lecture the group has made, or the group can keep each person's work private.

02

Lectures become notes

Each recording comes back with a brief, chapters with timestamps, the names, numbers and dates that were said, and the questions it answers. Click any line to hear that moment. Export DOCX or TXT for revision notes.

03

A semester fits inside fair use

Workspace is unlimited transcription with a fair-use mark of 300 hours of audio per billing period, pooled across the group. Past it, uploads are spaced out, never refused and never charged extra.

04

Cancel at the end of term

The plan stays active to the end of the month you paid for, and so does the group. The owner's Library keeps every transcript in it; each member keeps their own login and their own copy.

How it works

How do I add my team to the plan?

Step 1

Start Workspace

Subscribe from the Teams page or pricing, $19 a month. The plan is on your account the moment payment clears.

Step 2

Open your Credits page

Sign in and open Credits. Under your plan is the Team card with your seats: Seats 0 of 4 on a new plan.

Step 3

Add an email

Type a team member's email in the Team card and press Add. Use the address they sign in with. Up to 4; Remove anyone later from the same card.

Step 4

They sign in and transcribe

The member signs in at whipscribe.com with that email, uploads or records as usual, and everything they make runs on your plan. It appears in your Library with a by chip, unless you have set members' work to private in the same card.

Step by step, with what the Team card says when an email cannot be added: how to share a Workspace plan with your team.

Questions

What people ask before putting a team on one plan.

Is there a student discount?

WhipScribe has no student rate. The way students pay less is to share one Workspace plan: five people on one plan at $19 a month, each with their own login. A group that records less than a few hours a month can buy credit packs instead, $4 for 300 minutes, $18 for 3,000 minutes and $32 for 6,000, on one account; those never expire.

Can we all see each other's lecture recordings?

By default the plan owner sees every recording the group makes, each marked with who made it; the owner can set members' work to private instead. The other members see only their own. If the group needs one shared view, the owner's Library is that view; the owner can export any transcript and share it.

What if a classmate already has their own credits?

They keep them. While someone is on a team nothing is deducted from their own account, and their credits are there for them after the course ends.

How long can a lecture recording be?

Up to 10 hours or 5 GB per file, in any of 99+ languages, detected automatically. A one-hour lecture is usually ready in about two minutes.

What happens to the recordings when the term ends and we cancel?

The plan runs to the end of the paid period. The owner's Library keeps every transcript, export and recording in it; each member keeps their own login and their own copy of their work.
